I took a print for framing in January 2021 and was told it would be 6 weeks. In April I went in to see if it was ready and was told he was very busy and it would be one more week. 3 weeks later I had heard nothing so called in again. It is still not done so I took back the print and will be getting it done somewhere else. Unbelievably he had my print for 3 months and didn't frame it!

I took a pastel sketch to Penny Lane Art & Framing in October last year to be framed, the owner told me it would take a few weeks, which I said would be ok as it was a Christmas present for my wife and he said ‘oh don’t worry, it will be ready well before then’. I gave him my phone number and he said I will text or call you when it is ready.Around the 20th December I called the shop and the owner was rude and dismissive saying ‘it has been sent for framing and I will contact you in the next few days’. I didn’t hear from him in the next few days and when I called again 23rd he had closed for Christmas. (I did receive a text in January saying it was ready !)When I went to collect my sketch, from the moment I entered the shop I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. The owner seemed disinterested and again very dismissive, saying it wasn’t his fault and he hadn’t had enough time to complete it before Christmas.Overall, my experience at Penny Lane Art & Framing was incredibly disappointing. I had had high hopes but the poor customer service from the owner made me feel unwelcome and frustrated. I would not recommend this shop to anyone !

Do not use. This rude man kept my items for 30 days without any contact or indication of a completion date for the frame. When questioned he lied about waiting on stock to make the frame. This was the same excuse he gave two weeks earlier. The items to be framed were a birthday gift. He has now refused to do the frames and the birthday is in two days. This has caused us upset and stress.

Well worth the wait took 2 abstract paintings and got them framed really good workmanship and quality frames recommended will be using again

Be wary!Antique frame handed to them for a simple job.They managed to smash the antique glass, they also managed to damage the antique frame in numerous places, plus the framing itself was clumsy. If it wasn't so they'd respond to this review. They also took 6 weeks to do it. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!

WARNING! This shop destroyed my 126 year old oil painting by a known artist!!I handed over my painting for a small paint patch repair job back in January 2021, having previously agreed this would be the only work carried out (far left image) and at a time frame of 3 weeks.Then in March they tried to hand the painting back to me hoping I wouldn't notice that they had completely painted over all the original artists work, including the hair around the ear painted out (middle image) and it came back with additional damage too!They then ignored all my correspondence and request to not carry out any further work as I would be getting the paint-over they had done restored elsewhere.Fast forward now to May, they still have my artwork and they have completely painted over it all again (far right image) without my consent, adding more hair detail and taking detail out!They have destroyed an original 19th century artwork and diminished its value to nothing. And to top it all off - they still want paying!DO NOT hand over any artwork for restoration to Penny Lane Art & Framing.
