A prompt service, punctual (with a half hour before reminder). All issues were dealt with i in a very professional manner and kept us fully updated. Chris, the engineer who called, was very personable and fully conscientious in undertaking his work - I was impressed !

We hired Ability to fix the flusher on our toilet, one guy came and it took longer than expected and said would cost an additional £20 and took the prepayment on our card - we were later charged an additional £100.On top of that he left the toilet hanging off the wall , so they sent the same guy to come and fix it (free of charge). We thought all was fine and we returned from holiday with damp marks on the ceiling and wall underneath the toilet.We asked them to come and fix it , which they did - the third time !!!They have not provided any compensation for the damage caused of our newly painted walls and have stopped answering our emails. The worst experience possible.

Ability is a friendly and efficient company both for heating and plumbing. They are very reliable and their engineers are knowledgeable and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend them

If you don’t have time to read my full review - AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!As a landlord who doesn’t live in the area, I contacted Ability Southborough about a leaking shower. They were initially very helpful saying they would send someone out and fix it on site, if it was a simple fix! So I thought everything was done and dusted, and I could relax knowing it was in hand! How wrong was I …Firstly they cancelled on my elderly tenant, with very little notice, she had waited in ALL day and rang us upset when they cancelled - at a guess they got an urgent job and went where the extra money was, rather than honouring an appointment! I should have just cancelled then!After the work was done, I heard nothing, I just saw the bank charge - I had to ring in for feedback … and WOW!!! the lady who picked up was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to! She told me to be quiet until she had finished … apparently she’s one of the directors, so my guess is they are actively trying to reduce their customer base!She told me, our shower - yes was leaking, the sealant had come away and they recommended a new door - but they didn’t fix anything, not even the sealant because they couldn’t insure the work??? What … so I was charged over £100 to be told the exact same thing I called in to say was broken …My husband rang back to try and get more details about why nothing was done and was greeted with the same foul and aggressive attitude!At a guess, as below ‘the owner’ …possibly the very same lady as above … or a family member (the joy of a family run business, you can behave however you like! AVOID!!!) will respond to this review and say we used bad language, it’s all our fault etc. etc. but read on down and see that this sort of treatment, these reviews and them blaming their customers are getting more and more common!My advice to any landlord who lives locally or further afield AVOID ABILITY and find a company who sticks to their word, actually does the job they say they will and doesn’t treat you or your tenant like a piece of dirt!!

I have used Ability twice now and cannot recommend them enough. First time to replace a cistern flush valve the other time to replace a radiator TCV. Both the engineers (Tom and George I think) were polite, friendly and very knowledgeable. They explained everything they were doing really well and even went on to check other things e.g. he checked and bled all the radiators in the house...I will definitely use again.

Very knowledgeable and polite people. The lady answering the phone answered all my questions and made me choose their company over other companies we contacted. We had George the plumber who was very polite and professional. Very impressed with their service, quick call out time and very competive pricing. The hot water in my shower wasn't working. When I called Ability I had a very professional and friendly response, and someone was sent out the same day. I had prompt emails confirming the job and a call when the engineer was on his way. I was talked through what was going on, shown the problem and how to fix it if it happened again. Very happy with the service and would highly recommend.

In early December we discovered a water leak from our existing oil boiler. On investigation by our usual heating engineers it was discovered that the leak was from the heat exchanger and they advised the boiler needed to be replaced. Unfortunately they could not undertake the job until the spring of 2022. Ability were the only company who were able to commit to replace the boiler before Christmas. From the quote to the completion of the installation they were very professional. The engineers onsite were extremely polite and friendly. They completed the work on time to a very high standard. I would happily recommend their services to others needing an installation or repair to their boiler..

A true professional who made sure that the boiler worked efficiently after the service . It was clear that a thorougher annual service was carried out. Ability are a family business that care .Would recommend.

Arrived on time did a great job. Have used Ability several time before and they always do an excellent job.
