Ashurst Campsite

This campsite is in a great location with various walks and cycle routes on your doorstep. While visiting for the weekend we did a small 5km walk round the forest and a 16km that went through the nearby town of Lyndhurst, these can easily be found on the New Forest and OS apps. I would recommend downloading these before visiting as they have no paper maps available at reception.We also visited the local pub where you get discount for staying at the campsite which was an added bonus as it was quite expensive otherwise. The food, drink and staff here were great. There are a few pubs in the village, all in walking distance.During booking, I made an error so had to get in contact with the site and sort it all out. They were very understanding both on the phone and via email and sorted everything out very quickly.Arriving on site we were told we weren't allowed over 5 pitches despite having managers approval over email, however, I think this was just one staff member that was ill-informed and didn't know that this was the case.Staff onsite came round at night to anyone still awake and told them to be quiet (us included) and did daily checks of how many tents and cars we had on site. Fair to say this was the most expensive and strict campsite we have ever visited.However, we all had a good time and a good weekend away.
