The Hole In The Wall
Visited this pub on two occasions at lunchtime last weekend. It was extremely busy and had a great atmosphere. The food was absolutely brilliant and great value moneyWe were told there may be a wait due to the pub being so busy for the food which we were ok with .There were two members of staff waiting on (Richard and Ben ) who were extremely attentive and worked very hardWould definitely recommend and definitely return

Popped in for a drink out the rain. Warm welcome and cricket World Cup on tv screens and 80s music playing at a reasonable level. Wide selection of lagers and spirits. Food menu but didn’t try as not hungry

We stopped here this evening for some food. The wine and lager we had were great. However, we ordered our food and then after nearly an hour, we asked the barman if there was an issue with our food. He was very apologetic and went to check with the kitchen. He informed us that there was a party of 15 in and our food would be out in two minutes. My boyfriend's chicken burger and side order of onion rings was brought out, minus the advertised coleslaw. We then waited another 5 minutes for my sausage and mash to come. Unfortunately our order of crispy king prawns was missing. The barman again was apologetic and returned a couple of minutes later with the prawns and missing coleslaw. We were offered a complimentary free drink, which we gratefully accepted. You'd like to think that after such a wait and with items missing, the food was well worth the wait.Unfortunately, my sausages were burnt, the prawns weren't fully cooked and missing the sriracha mayonnaise. The onions rings were greasy and the peas and mash were just ok. The food was at best adequate and not worth the £26 we paid for it.We gave this feedback to the barman and he said he would relay this to the kitchen. It is also worth noting that the barman was new and absolutely trying his best. He's the reason service has three stars. Had it have been based on the woman working with him who was quite rude and unhelpful when he was asking her questions, it would have been a one star.Had we been informed before we ordered that there would be such a wait, we would have enjoyed our drink and eaten elsewhere. Communication needs to be worked on, we would have appreciated an update about our food.Given the time of year, you need more staff when catering for larger groups. I don't know how the food was being prepared but the dishes were coming out one by one.It is a shame because the menu looks good on paper and is reasonably priced. The amount we paid wasn't worth it.

A cute place. We were there mid week so perhaps not indicative of a busy weekend, but staff were lovely and service was quick. The nachos were amazing!

Pub is nicely decorated, I'm sure when full it creates a good atmosphere but it was quiet when we visited. The tapas were good and they arrived quite quickly after ordering, can't fault it really. 5 tapas for £20 is a bargain, the chillies were incredibly hot, good job we had a pint to cool our mouths!

First time in here for a long time and it's definitely a better pub than I remember. Good selection of beers with plenty of TVs, we went in for the women's world cup final, and didn't have a problem finding a screen with a seat.

Visit here for food every time we're in Shrewsbury. Can't fault the food, the staff and the pub itself.Thought about trying somewhere else whilst in the town, but hey, if it isn't broke, don't fix it.Steaks are always perfectly cooked and the burgers are amazing.Try it!... You won't be disappointed.

Lured in by Happy hour on Friday, £3 for a selection of drinks. Had a Strawberry daiquiri each, then a sex on the beach. Stayed for a double steak and mega mixed grill. Both cooked excellently, service was great. Quite dark inside but a nice atmosphere and clean.
