Forest View Cottages and Retreats

We hired the cottage over the New Year period and it was perfect for needs. We were traveling from Australia and used the cottage as a base for meeting our relatives in the UK who traveled up from Devon. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 children (plus Angus the dog). Lots of walks, mountain biking and visits to the various pubs. Booking was easy and Donna was very helpful with a few questions we had. Would happily recommend.

My family love a weekend away in the UK, been very lucky with the cottages we have stayed in but this one was the best by far. We stayed here for my wife's birthday, the owner knew and made every effort (I wont say what, so it is not expected every time!) to give her a special stay. Aside from that, the cottage was immaculate, kitchen fully equipped and the location ideal. No other buildings nearby, pubs (with good food!) up the road and the missus loved the big bath. So peaceful, so many walks/bike rides to go on, so many roaming animals - perfect for a break in the New Forest.

What a beautiful setting and stunning property. The Foresters Lodge is everything you could want from a retreat! It has so much space and yet manages to still feel cosy and homely. Had a wonderful time here and would definitely come back - in fact I was trying to book it for New Years but it's already gone! Donna is such a kind and welcoming person, I can't recommend it enough.

The Foresters Lodge is a remote cottage that catered for all our wishes. The welcome started from the moment we parked the car with a lovely cake made by Donna. The cottage is well furnished and even nicer inside than the online photos show. We felt at home immediately. Wildlife such as deer horses donkeys robins squirrels and cows were spotted out of the windows everyday. The games room was enormous fun and all the adults played the various activities each evening. It was lovely to have a total change from watching TV. The local pubs provided some excellent meals .The kitchen and dining room are well equipped with lots of crockery pots and pans. We had some lovely walks and bike rides. Would definitely go back.

We booked The Foresters Lodge for a special family birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. Donna was there to greet us on arrival and supplied a lovely sponge which everyone enjoyed. The property was clean and had everything we could need. Fabulous views of the forest and easy access for walking. The games room was an added bonus which kept all the family entertained. Everyone had a lovely time and we hope to return in the future.

Plenty of room for 6 adults, 2 children and 2 babies. You could not wish for a more beautiful, peaceful setting, with the New Forest animals coming right up to the boundaries. The adjacent woods provided a wonderful play area for the 4 and 6 year old boys and the adults loved the games room. The log burner kept as snug on cold rainy days. Everything you need is provided. A great holiday, thank you!

The Foresters Lodge is in the most idealic setting. With direct access onto the forest you couldn’t be any closer to nature. The Lodge itself is beautiful and quaint. Donna clearly takes pride in the cleanliness and comfort of the Lodge. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 children and we had plenty of space both inside and out. The garden compliments The Lodge and you really feel you’ve escaped the hustle and bustle of city life when relaxing in the garden. It is so peaceful. Other than the sound of the animals - a cow mooing or the crackle of twigs as the deer and ponies make their journey through the forest you could hear a pin drop. Night time is magical. You can hear the owls outside and other animals rustling in the forest.Grocery shops are not far away. Lots of great country pubs. If you want to venture to other parts of the forest it isn’t far to drive. You have the use of a fabulous games room, which kept my boys entertained. The kitchen is well equipped, dining area was a perfect size for us all to sit around the table and enjoy family meals, lounge is cosy and comfortable, conservatory is great for chilling and watching the wildlife, bedrooms are all a good size with lovely fresh linen and the bathroom and en-suite are a great size. The utility room is a great for storing wellies, coats etc. Will we return? Absolutely!

Great location immersed in the landscape of the New Forest. Lovely walks to be had straight from the front door, and the games room was an absolute blast. Donna was a fantastic host and the house was spotless. Will definitely be back.

The Forester's Lodge proved to be the perfect home and location for our family holiday. The Lodge itself was well equipped, very comfortable, homely and situated in the heart of the New Forest. An amazing range of wildlife could be viewed from every angle without even leaving the house! We enjoyed the Games Room and made good use of the kitchen for our family meals. The location gave us easy access to walks, villages and country pubs. Thanks Donna, we all had a lovely time.

Comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped, this cottage is even better than the pictures suggest. The games room is great for tweens/teens but there are also plenty of games/toys for younger children. Although you feel like you're in the depths of the forest, it's easy to reach all of the New Forest's attractions and the coast. Good pubs nearby and lovely walks in the forest. Amazing to see a herd of deer passing the cottage as well as plenty of ponies, cows and donkeys. Lovely to have the wood burner on the colder evenings, and the cake on arrival was much appreciated. A great way of reminding your kids how much fun they can have without electronic devices, we wish we'd booked for longer.
