Great location with lovely rooms. Breakfast was plentiful with plenty of variety. Check in was very slow - seems like friendly staff are dealing with an antiquated system. Dirty crockery and glasses in the corridor by our rooms for the duration of the stay. Great value for money overall. Perhaps needs the managers, exec team to take control and be front of house and seeing what guests are experiencing and seeing.

Our room No 149 was cramped. The gap between the bed and the wall meant that I bashed my head on the TV when using the bathroom. The TV itself was faulty and the sound coming from it was garbled. The heater was noisy and the bins weren’t emptied during our room service. The breakfast was awful. It’s an easy meal to prepare but the Mercure cooks don’t appear able to produce it properly. The eggs were rubbery and overcooked; the bacon was like shoe leather and the sausages grey and anaemic. And certainly Not worth the price added to the bill. This will probably be the last time we stay in this overpriced hotel with a cut price attitude.

Hotel staff were very helpful and the location was excellent. The bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was also very clean with good toiletries. This hotel has a lot of positives, especially the lovely staff on reception and at breakfast, who were all super helpful. Breakfast was good too, plentiful and tasty. However some areas of the hotel were tired, especially the bedroom carpet which was stained and worn. Very unpleasant! There were a lot of housekeeping staff in the corridors, as well as maintenance teams using public areas and lifts. We waited behind one crew at reception and while we appreciate they have a job to do it, it gave the hotel a bit of a chaotic feel - not really a 4* experience.

Fantastic hotel located in a really good spot in the city centre. The room was lovely and had everything you needed, even a ironing board and iron.Shower was so so nice, rainfall head as well as a normal head if you rather use that.Bed was really comfortable and the TV was a really good size in the room.I booked parking and it was nice to know it was right next door to the hotel. I had a small car so it was fine, but spaces are a little bit on the small size as well as the bends to get in and out.

Very nice hotel. Privilege room was a decent size. Very Clean. Nice bathroom. Only negative Lighting in room was not great. Bit dull. Apart from that we had a very pleasant 3 night stay. Breakfast very tasty and filling.

I would suggest avoiding this hotel totally during the winter it is -1 in Bristol and the room has no heating. Upon arrival the window had been left wide open, when shutting we found that they actually don’t shut fully. There was a tiny heater in the room which was not making any difference what so ever. When we spoke to a member staff to express our upset her response was ‘we are fully booked’ and that she was cold too - which she repeated several times, without acknowledging the customers upset and the difference being is she is being paid to be here, we are paying to be here and freezing for it!!! The other unhelpful comment she made was that they had no more heaters to offer…. So basically had to freeze. No apology was given until prompted. Customers should be made aware of heating issues prior to their booking to ensure that the booking meets their needs.Awful experience and will not be returning or recommending. There was also a party in the hotel which were not informed about at the time of booking or prior to arrival, with music blasting until 1am…. Only good thing is the location.

I had a terrible time at this hotel tonight . The room was a good size , bathroom compact but roomy enough , decor cool and quirky .So far, so good .From about 8pm onwards we could hear this loud thumping music in our room( there. was a private party being held in the function room ). Usually not an issue -sat night & town centre you expect a bit of noise but the level was unacceptable . Spoke to duty manager 3 times and was told the party finished at 10:30 . It actually finished at 12pm . I had my headphones on , with volume at the loudest and I could still hear the function room . It’s such a shame as I really liked the hotel but I’d never stay there again or trust what the staff tell me

Our room wasn't ready until gone 3pm, I had advised that I'm disabled, so not being able to access the room knocked me back considerably. The ramp to get in and out was appreciated but very difficult to manoeuvre, fine for a buggy or suitcase but I needed a run up to go in because it was steep and coming out it was very difficult to not end up in the road as the pavement wasn't actually wide enough to accommodate the ramp. It scraped the bottom of my scooter on every entry and exit. When we did get in the room it was smelly. I eventually found the fridge had been turned off and the door left closed. Obviously the drinks inside were warm but the smell was awful. The next day we were out of our room at 8am and returned around 2.30pm our room hadn't been cleaned and when we mentioned it to the front desk we were told that they were short staffed. The room wasn't cleaned that day and none of the consumerables were replaced. The following day the room was cleaned but still none of the consumerables had been replaced. No water, no teas, coffee or chocolate. Our towels were taken but not replaced. Breakfast on each day was supposed to be hot, but it didn't seem as though the pans were hot. Really not worth £17!Overall it was a more than disappointing stay. I'd never go back. It's only redeeming feature was its proximity to the music venue that we were visiting.

Booked a stay after all trains were cancelled due to flooding on tracks. The price was very reasonable for a last minute hotel. Also the location and quality of the hotel was high for the amount paid.Just a few things that could be considered negative:Our room on the second floor (250) was next to the firedoors which at around 1am were being opened and closed so we went out and opened them fully. At about 1.30am we woke up with water dripping through the lights and sockets in the bathroom. We went down and explained and they happily offered us to swap rooms.

We arrived at the hotel late at night ( we had just come from our wedding and had booked the hotel as a treat for ourselves). When we arrived there was nobody at the counter (we appreciate it was late but we couldn't find anyone for a while), finally a lady arrived at the desk and checked us in, after about 10 minutes of typing, she gave us our room key and off we went to our room. We opened the door and could immediately see the room was already occupied (luckily the guests weren't asleep in there). We went back downstairs to reception and searched for the lady, we knocked on a door to the back office and she appeared. We explained to her that there was someone already staying in that room, she let out a big sigh, took the room card from my hand and looked at the computer. After 5 minutes of silence she asked if I was sure I had made the booking, I answered yes and showed her the booking confirmation on my phone. After another 10 minutes she handed us another room card and walked away, no apology, no enjoy your stay... nothing. We had recently been staying in another hotel with a lot of friends and family who had travelled to Bristol for our wedding, the service at this hotel was faultless, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. It was a complete shock to the system to go from such great service in the previous hotel to such bad service in this one, especially when this one is double the price and supposed to be luxury. It is safe to say that we would not recommend this hotel to anyone and it put a dampener on the end of such a fantastic day,
