I have trained on and off with Steve for going on a decade.I would highly recommend GAMA if you're looking for a great blend of arts and to learn some really proficient realistic self defence.You will not find many gyms with such a great sense of community and inclusion, not to mention the the lineage!I could not recommend it more!

I had no experience of martial arts when GAMA was recommended to me. Steve is a skilled and experienced teacher who, along with the other students, has made this an amazing experience. Steve's creativity through the pandemic offering online training has been invaluable and kept me engaged and moving. All Covid safety measures are in place at the gym.

I have been a student at GAMA for nearly 10 years and it is without a doubt the best martial arts school I have ever trained at.Steve (owner/head coach) provides world class instruction in a variety of striking, grappling and weapons based arts such as muy thai, panatukan, jeet kune do, kali, silat and BJJ. He also provides strength and conditioning classes which employ kettlebells, club bells, macebells, body weight and other tools to help you take your fitness to the next level. All of this in dedicated premises near the centre of leeds.Steve really has built something amazing at GAMA. There is something for everyone. Wether you have extensive martial arts experience or none Steve will support you on your chosen path. I have seen him guide people to fight in the ring, to realise their own goals as stunt performers, personal trainers and close protection officers and I have seen him guide many people to progress as martial artists and improve their fitness.I came to GAMA with experience in other arts but I am by no means a natural at martial arts. I am not naturally flexible or co-ordinated and I have never liked playing sport. Over the years Steve has patiently helped me progress my martial arts skills and fitness to develop a skill set better than anything I thought I was capable of. Also, I now actually enjoy exercise! I am fitter and stonger than I ever expected I would be at 36!Steve is supported by a team of coaches who all bring their own teaching style and perspective on training providing the students with even more opportunities to develop.The atmosphere at GAMA is amazing. Everyone's a peer and everyone's a friend. There are no egos or problem characters to deal with. Its really welcoming to everyone who walks throught the door with a desire to train no matter what their background, age, gender or level of fitness/experience.I cannot recomend GAMA highly enough. A great gym with fantastic instructors and a family atmosphere. I have trained all over the world from Osaka to LA and this is still my favourite place to go and hit somepads or swing some sticks! Definitely worth a look if you live in Leeds and are interested in martial arts!

A brilliant martial arts gym where everyone is there to learn and ego's are firmly left at the door. Steve is an amazing instructor with a wealth of experience across a number of different disciplines, Jeet Kune Do, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Silat, Kali, Muay Thai, to Grappling and self defence techniques. Steve's own commitment to continuous learning from his instructors means that the breadth and depth of what is taught to us students is amazingAlso what comes through is his prioritising teaching people something that he loves over any commercial interests, which some martial arts gyms lose as they get more popular.Steve and his senior instructors make it a really friendly and safe space to train, to be physically and mentally challenged at a pace that's right for you. Absolutely recommend this place, whether you're a beginner or wanting to expand your martial arts range.

The best place in town, where you can learn martial arts. Stephen it is an amazing instructor, he knows very well different style of combat. I highly recommend this place, if you wanna start your experience in martial arts.

If you are looking to learn Martial Art or Self-defence, this is the place. Whatever your level, Steve is extremely knowledgable and adapt the training to your need. The team is really welcoming and its a great atmosphere to learn and develop your skills.I have trained at GAMA for nearly 5yrs, having never done martial art before. Before I disliked exercise and would not stand going to a gym being overweight in front of people. My first time at GAMA, I felt welcome and supported. Now, I can’t spend a week without training. My fitness level has increase tremendously (lost 25kg+ and I am healthier that I have never been) and gain so much knowledge throughout the years. All of this would not be possible without the support and encouragement of Steve and the team.I am extremely grateful to have found GAMA. This is a seriously good club, the instructor team led by Steve Gaulton are fantastic. Whether you’re new to martial arts or experienced and want to expand your skills GAMA is a great place to train.

Awesome, Awesome. Awesome- Really friendly gym. Started with no previous experience in the Martial Arts and have come to love it. Started as a 40 something wanting to keep fit and was worried and aprechensice about egos and not fitting in as never done anything like this.Shouldn't have worried, everybody want to help you learn and there are definitely no egos. Steve G and the instructors don't allow. They want a friendly learning environment for all no mater what level and everone wants to help. Love the way you learn about so many international culture and arts the diversity of the Arts actually inspires and accelerates your learning.Stephen Gaulton is so knowledgeable not just in the arts but also sport injuries and conditioning.
