Great location and a nice hotel to stay in if you’re away for the weekend or night. Was up Sunderland for a night away with my football team and was greeted by a lovely woman called Lisa on the reception she was everything you could ask for and more, honestly couldn’t fault her service one bit she was outstanding. Also we went out for the evening and a lady called Caitlin was on the night shift and was a star too!Overall great staff and lovely stay here at the Comfort Inn deffo recommend.

It was okay for it's money, room spacious, bed comfortable. Reception staff very friendly. We were a little disappointed with the complimentary" breakfast in a bag

I haven't actually stayed at the hotel BUT I wanted to leave a good review in response to a refund I was able to get from Hotels.com. We were due to visit in two weeks. However we decided not to due to the local restrictions in Sunderland. It seemed pointless to visit as we would not be able to see our family there. After speaking to Hotels The Comfort Inn agreed to waiver any charge for changing our dates. However we were unsure of when to visit again. So after going back to Hotels, The Comfort Inn kindly agreed to refund our non-refundable room. I am very impressed with their service, although they have not directly spoken with me the hotel have shown understanding during this uncertain time. Because of this, as soon as we have some more clarity of when the local restrictions will be lifted we will make another booking. Maybe not a non- refundable room though to save any stress again! Thank you.

Nice roomGood locationBrilliant, helpful and friendly staffGood priceAll was going so well until my 4 year old daughter found bags containing cocaine in the room.Receptionist was brilliant and couldn't be more apologetic when she told us she was going to tell the manager, however, the manager didn't feel the need to deal with the situation herself.

Very enjoyable, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door. It is beside a pub/night club so I asked about any noise. I was told it had been a problem of late but that all the tables and chairs had been removed from outside the day before and therefore should be a problem. They were right. The only noise we heard during the night was traffic and that was because we had the window open as it was quite warm. The room was clean and very comfortable and the large towels and the lashings of hot water in the bathroom were fantastic. The breakfast was collect and go. We collected from reception and took it back to the room. Choice of porridge or yoghurt, ( we had the porridge) a croissant, breakfast biscuits and a bottle of water. We also got a top up if teas and coffees etc for us to use in the room with breakfast. It was quite enjoyable and we'll sufficient for a breakfast. If we in the area again we will definitely stay here. If I was to be picky I would say the corridor on the top floor has a bit of a doggy"smell

STAY AWAYI have stayed in better hostels. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone at all.We were put into a disability room. Toilet wouldn't flush properly. Bed was nearly on the floor and the pillows were flat. I asked to exchange rooms and was told they were fully booked. Went back to the room and packed up to leave, as we were walking out we were told that they could put us into another room. It wasn't even 10 mins after I was told they were fully booked. As far as I'm concerned we were lied to when I asked if we could exchange rooms. Phoned today to speak to the manager and was told by her that yes they were fully booked but then said that if we had requested to exchange rooms we should have gone to reception earlier when we checked in and they would have been able to do this. HOW COULD THEY EXCHANGE ROOMS IF THEY WERE FULLY BOOKED VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HOTEL BUT ESPECIALLY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH LEVEL OF SERVICE

Cheap and cheerful. The staff here were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were very clean, though a bit dated. There is also plenty of parking. It's very near a main busy road but road noise was not too bad. It's ideally situated for exploring the local area. There is a bar next door where you can purchase a meal or if you're a dab hand at one pot cooking then there is a large Sainsbury's nearby as well as a McDonald's and a KFC. Would quite happily stay here again. Be warned though if you have a lot of luggage there is no lift and it's quite a hike to the top floor!!

Great place to get the head down. Handy location if you are working in this area. Rooms are well sized, equipped with what you need (TV, kettle, cups, coffee, hairdryer). Beds are comfy, linen changed every day. Staff are friendly on front desk & great for recommending places to eat in the area, very handy if like me you're down working for a few days & not sure of the area.

Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Best night sleep we've had a while, very comfortable. Location is great, central to everything we want. Good size room, pity the bed seems to have gone from a super king size to a double but oh well. Was a dirty mug and one quilt had a stain but everything else is nice and clean.
