HM Passport Office

Faultless service! I stupidly didn't renew my passport last year in the usual way, and then the opportunity to take a trip to Arizona 'storm chasing' next month came up suddenly with merely 5 weeks to spare. I sought out the fast-track service. There were no appointments in London, so I had to book Newport, which was a little annoying given I live fairly far away down on the Isle of Wight! I travelled up for the appointment at 2pm on Tuesday this week, and the passport was on my doormat this morning (Saturday)! This was only half the time of the guaranteed delivery within 8 days that I was promised. Don't be put off by the small crowd of people waiting outside the office - I followed the instructions on the door and turned up 10 mins before the appt, and was taken straight in by the guard. Be aware that you MUST turn your phone off, and MUST go through airport-style security. You then proceed to the seated waiting area. Don't be that person that gets told off for using your phone; there were two of them in the 20 mins I was waiting! My ticket number was 12 digits away from what they were calling when I sat down, but the numbers being called seemed to get faster and faster, until mine was called at around 2.10pm. I was seen by a friendly young man who checked the form/photos over and gave me a receipt and sent me on my way. All done in literally 4 minutes! What a fantastic service (you're getting what you pay for, even if the travel aspect is inconvenient and costly too depending how far away you live!).

What a fantastic service I received from the staff and security team at HMPO Newport from the moment I walked into the building I was greeted by the security team and told I had to return 10min before my appointment time as I arrived 30min before my appointment I was happy with that gave me enough time to go over to greggs for a cup of tea. So please arrive 10min before your appointment time and be willing to be turned away if you arrive to early. Otherwise I was in and out of my appointment within 15min and on my way home.

Excellent service at HM passport office in Newport today. Everybody from the security guard on arrival to the staff inside was helpful & friendly. I used the digital premium service - in and out in 10mins. Brilliant. If you need to use this service I’d totally recommend the Newport office. Parking a bit tricky but Asda is opposite & a nice place have coffee (Bragu) close by.

Fabulous service. Did my renewal on line. Everything went so smooth. Had new passport after about10 days. Tracking was great. All steps were sent to me.Great service

I had my appointment on the 18th July at 2:30pm. Was called in 10 minutes before and everything was done quickly and efficiently. The staff were diverse and very friendly. I had used fast track which would come in one week but my passport arrived in only 4 days! Such a great service, I highly recommend it if you need your new passport urgently.

Absolutely fantastic experience this morning! Appointment was at 08.30am and was called in early & all finished by 08.25am. EVERY member of staff was polite, friendly, efficient & professional. Best place to park is the Asda, which is only about 100yards away! Honestly, I have never experienced such an efficient service!

I booked a Saturday appointment for a child’s passport renewal about 3 weeks beforehand for the 9am slot. There isn’t a car park that you can use but just next to it there is an Asda superstore (Pillgwenlly). It has a cafe/ toilets. You can park there for up to 3 hours as a customer. There were a lot of cars parked on double yellow lines outside the passport office. They wouldn’t let anyone in until about 8:55. Once in I had very good service. I just needed one child passport renewal but I needed to bring both of my children with me that day. They didn’t have an issue with this. I was told as it was a Saturday I should expect to get the passport back by about a week on the Monday. I actually got it on the Wednesday (four days after my appointment). Very happy with my experience.

Visited the Passport Office today. All the staff we encountered were kind, professional and very helpful. Thank you , especially Leanne your customer service was exemplary.

I came today for my fast track appointment. Fantastic staff, they were friendly and professional, everything went smooth, great experience.Now for the down point. The parking was a joke. If a policeman/warden came around here, they would be a millionaire by the end of the day from the amount of cars parked on double yellows. There was even one in the middle of the road. There was a car park, but it was for staff only, with warning signs to anyone else, and there were like two cars in the passport office's spaces.Why not reserve a couple for customers? You could then fine people, who are not customers, for parking there, and make some extra quids towards your coffee stations and staff christmas do. I was 50p 20p-ing it while I was inside, hoping I don't get fined. Not that I'm admitting to parking on double yellows.This was probably the one time in my life that I visit the passport office, as I'm sure it is the case for many more people who come here for the fast track service, what an awful experience it would be if we got a fine. The passport office is not exactly the sort of place you'd think to go and park on a daily basis. Would it really hurt to reserve a space or two for customers who have driven a fair distance?I suspect the cars on the double yellows belong to people who work around the area. If that is the case, a staff only multistory would help, then that would free up spaces in front of the buildings for customers of businesses around the area. It worked well for some businesses in Bristol.

Had to replace my passport in a bit of a hurry so opted for the Fast Track service. Everything went smoothly this morning, I was promptly helped by a really lovely young lady with the most beautiful manicure. The staff were all extremely professional and efficient. Thank you for making my visit a great experience.
