Remember this is a youth hostel! it is right on the beach, when the tide is in the hostel is 30 metres to the sea. The hostel is lovely and quirky with lots of little touches, encouraging you to look after the environment. You have to park at the top of the hill and walk 5-10 minutes down the road - bring your kit in a backpack. The Crows Nest accommodation is modern, but up a steep hill. The food availability is stand YHA menu.

What a wonderful experience all round!Notes for newbies (as we were):1. They’re not lying about the walk to the YHA from the parking. Not wheelchair or pushchair friendly. Lovely potter though. Pack light or on wheels!2. Plenty of stairs and slopes when you get there. Be prepared with sturdy footwear and an umbrella for going between buildings3. The walk onto the beach is great for kids but 200m at the start involves rock pools and some wading/slippy rocks. Wellies for the kids are useful! The rooms were lovely and clean. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. Breakfast was a great bit of scran but beware the tables are tight and when it’s busy you may not get a table! In the evening there is plenty to do. The bar has games, a dress up box and some hobby horses. A lovely place to relax.Staff were so friendly and accommodating. They looked after us and my young lad, very well.

What a wonderful place, we stayed as part of a large group and could not have felt more welcome. Claire and the fantastic team were so friendly. The location is absolutely stunning, we walked down to the hostel in the dark and it felt like an adventure! Don't forget torches though. The bay itself is stunning and lovely to explore. The bar area is great, with loads of games to keep the kids happy while the adults have a drink. The breakfast and dinner was just perfect for a big group with lots of kids and we felt it was really good value. We stayed up in the modern block above the older building and everything was clean, comfy and very modern.Claire and the team went above and beyond for us, with a firepit, boggle hunting and more. We absolutely loved our stay.

What a place! Superb greeting from Claire on our arrival, fantastic location and had everything we needed. The only thing was we found the bed pretty uncomfortable but for a one night stay it was fine. What a great place. We will return but will bring a mattress topper with us,

Lovely, hidden hostel at the bottom of a steep bank. You leave your car at the top so you need a reasonable level of fitness to go up and down and also if you're staying in crows nest. Nice lounge with a cosy fire though quite small. Staff excellent. We have been three times now, our granddaughter loves it

Stopped in at the café with kids 2&4 after a morning on Boggle Hole Beach. Lovely cafe in a lovely location with wide variety of cakes on offer at reasonable value these days (£5.95 for coffee and cake). Didn't have lunch, but lunch menu also seemed nice.Great kids hot chocolates as well.Boggle Hole Beach was excellent for the children with lots of rock pools and waves to play in. Do pay attention to tide times as at high tide lots of the beach is under water and you can get cut off.The YHA also has toilets, and outside showers for cleaning sandy children off after unexpected dips in the sea!Carparking free at the top of a very steep but smooth road (no space for parking at bottom), though our kids did manage to walk all the way back up on their own.

Wonderful cafe and bar with cosy, beautifully decorated interior. Very clean and soulfully presented seating and ambience in this little old mill tucked around the corner(1/2 mile along the coastpath) from Robin Hood Bay. Well worth the walk or drop in off coast path (not literally), for an amazing array or cakes, hot food, ice cream and beer.Seating outside and toilets, freshwater filling station. An amazing find.

Visited the cafe. Beautiful location. Perfect coffee and vegan cake. Sat next to the fire before our steep! walk to Robins Hood Bay. Highly recommend. Lovely staff.
