Mercure Daventry Court Hotel
The food this week was terrible. It feels as though we are eating in a prison and not a thought has gone into the food. At the end of the day we are paying to be there and our food should be up to the same standard that is served to the rest of the hotel customers. I have had to go elsewhere to eat spending my own money with is flat out unacceptable. The food was clearly cheap and rubbish no effort is going into it whatsoever.The old system the hotel used to use was amazing - we had a menu and could pick what we liked from it, and i actually looked forward to it however this is a serious downgrade. Not a single person in this class enjoyed eating here this week we are all severely disappointed and expect improvement.

We used the spa facilities and although small they were nice.They have a decent size pool that has a shallow section for babies and a main area that goes from 1 meter to 1.5 meters deep.It's a nice enough size providing there are not too many people there.We visited when there was a few people so it was perfect. And we eventually got the place to ourselves.They also have a steam room And a Sauna both of which were good quality.The sauna hit upto 70 degrees Celsius and was very nice.They have plastic deck Chairs around the pool to sit in.The men's changing rooms has a little section to sit down and only 2 showers. But providing it's not that busy it is plenty.We went for a day at the spa rather than been hotel guests and the price wasn't too bad.They have a massive car park and it's free if your a guest or using the spa.

I'm at the hotel due to work commitments, but the hotel is quiet and the food is generally good. Rooms need a little more things in them and updating. Only five hangers in the room, no proper area to put your clothes. No fridge to put drinks etc. The staff were helpful and friendly. The swimming pool is quite small, but ok.

We had our annual Christmas Party for the second year running! Great experience and great entertainment! Lovely setting, food was as expected but cooked perfectly! A premium beer would of been nice and Port but hey, you can't have it all, bar service was slow at times too. Staff were pleasant. Lovely and warm too!

You do get a good friendly welcome, we stopped over on a Sunday & it is often a quiet day at any hotel, however the Daventry Court was very quiet. We have stayed at quite a few Mercure Hotels which have been quite colorful"

Stayed here for a nearby wedding. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was great. The Fuel restaurant was the only disappointment, hot food was served cold.

Warmly welcomed by reception staff. Stayed in privilege room which had been modernised, but not the bathroom which was in need of renovation, with mould in the corners of the bath. No air con in the room, and only able to slightly open the windows. Was fine in October, but would likely be uncomfortable on warmer days. TV only worked on some channels - not BBC and ITV, other than +1 which was odd. Breakfast was varied, tasty and plentiful. Swimming pool was great - warm water which my children loved playing in.

What a super hotel. We stayed here for the weekend to attend two dog shows being held in the hotel. The room was lovely and clean. The food was amazing. The location beautiful and the staff were lovey, they could not do enough for their guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

No more than an upmarket premier inn. Room was a bit of a trek away from reception. Got a parking charge of £100 through the post after staying there. Although after calling they did cancel it.Response.. Thank you. Now you know your shortcomings, you can improve on them for better reviews!

On arrival, hotel felt cold and unwelcoming. Only one receptionist on duty meant a long wait to check in.Room was only OK, few snags, clothes rail was broken, bracket to join beds stuck out and could potentially have caused a nasty injury. Bathroom, shower was powerful but lots of mould, especially around tap and shower screen.We booked for dinner and was one of only 3 couples in the restaurant. Waitress came to take our order, we ordered starters and mains, then she asked what we wanted for pudding - most unusual to be asked for dessert order at the beginning of a meal. We then asked for the wine list, only to be told there wasn't one and asked if we wanted red or white. The waitress gave an example of a red wine, I had to ask the price. In the end we decided against the wine, it felt very unprofessional not to have a wine list.Next we were told one of the starters we'd ordered was not available - difficult to understand how as one of the first customers of the evening, menu items are not available. We cancelled the other starter. Main course arrived, my partner had ordered ribs, the ribs were covered in a barbecue sauce, which we believe was not stated on the menu, he absolutely loathes barbecue sauce, do his meal was spoilt. All in all, we couldn't wait to escape the restaurant. Breakfast on both days was fine.We definitely would not stay here again or recommend the hotel.
