Simply the best birding shop in the universe. Run by the friendliest and most knowledgeable people you are ever likely to come across. Whether you just need some bird food or binoculars, they provide excellent choice and service at very competitive prices.

I'm a big fan of Feathers having previously bought two pairs of binoculars, a spotting scope and a tripod from them in the past. I recently wanted to upgrade my scope and headed straight for Feathers. I was able to buy a nearly new Opticron and px my existing scope for which Joe gave me a very fair price. Extremely happy with my new purchase and as always at Feathers you get excellent customer service and a nice cup of coffee. Joe and Allan really know their stuff and I value their opinion. It's a relaxed experience and I was able to take as long as I needed to compare my new scope with my existing one and go outside and properly test both against nearby farm buildings and distant trees. Can't recommend Feathers highly enough.

We went to Feathers last weekend with friends to buy my husband a pair of binoculars for his 70th birthday.Firstly Joe couldn't believe my husband was 70 so that was a good start!!.I had researched Feathers and read the excellent reviews from other customers and have to say they were all correct.Joe was so knowledgeable, professional and honest. He established what my husband wanted to use the binoculars for and ensured the ones he chose where fit for purpose. The chosen pair were well within the budget I had set which Joe was aware of and he made no attempt to upsell me to my maximum. It was important to him that we left with the correct pair for our needsJoe gave us plenty of time to make our decision and made us a super cup of coffee while we watched the birds outside and calmly made a decision. We have already told our friends about this little gem and would urge others without hesitation to visit.Thank you Joe.

Great shopping experience. Knowledgeable staff, great range of top quality binoculars to chose from and the important ability to be able to try them outside across woods and farmland. This is so important, I would have purchased the incorrect pair if I hadn't had chance to look at highly reflective areas! If you're serious about getting the correct pair of binoculars do to Feathers. Highly recommended plus you'll most likely get a cup of tea!

I was looking for a pair of 10x42 binoculars for my other half's birthday and found Feathers online. They have an excellent web site. I called first and had a very informative conversation with Joe, the owner. So we paid a visit to try the varied range of 10x42 brands they had in stock. The shop is in a farmyard surrounded by countryside and they have birdfeeders in their yard, so we were able to try out the binoculars for real, near and far. From a varied line up to choose from and honest advice, we eventually ended up spending less than we thought for an impressive pair of Vikings. Across the yard is Buster's farm shop, and down the village lane is the Salehurst Halt pub, a freehouse. So all in all, a pleasant and productive outing in the East Sussex countryside.

We went to get one pair of binoculars for our elderly father and we ended up getting another pair for our family. Joe was very helpful and help us find just what we were looking for. He wanted to know our budget and then gave us several options within that budget. Fantastic service and very friendly and I would recommend it to anyone.

So glad we made the 120 mile round trip. Great advice from friendly and knowledgeable people. A great range available for all budgets. Gave us lots of hands-on time with different binoculars, which you don’t get elsewhere. Plenty of bird life around to test them on. Highly recommended, would definitely buy again from Feathers Optics.
