The Groom Room Burton-Upon-Trent

AVOID!!I will not be returning!I took my 5month old cockerpoo to have a puppy groom this was his second groom, and the first time he went he seemed OK and came home looking lovely.This second time, I went to collect him and he look no different, I paid for puppy spa costing in total £35, the woman was so negative saying she couldn't groom him because he was misbehaving. He is a pup!But she didn't tell me she hadn't done anything until I had paid, where she also mentioned that all his belly was matted and she couldn't get them out. Which resulted in me having to pay an extra £20 at another groomers to get the matts out , so in total I have paid £55 for my dog to have a bath! And a shaved belly.i will not be going back to pets at home for grooming as they are clueless, I have sent an email of complaint and heard nothing.The new groomer I went to said pets at home hadnt even touched his feet, his bottom, his ears ect he still couldn't see because his fur was so long over his eyes.Save your money and go to a proper groomers who care for the welfare of dogs.

Took my 4 month old cockapoo, he looked lovely and they did do a good job around his eyes. However when waiting to pick my dog up, the staff were eating and food was dropping over him. When collecting him, the groomer was rude on how she spoke she said he was very mouthy with the brush near his head. He is a puppy still and explores everything with his mouth. Yes he is a little mouthy but nothing a puppy does not do. No advice was given really on how to help him and whats best to do. I felt extremely uncomfortable on how they was speaking about my puppy being a puppy.

Bad vibes from the staff, had to ask if receptionist was feeling fine since she was giving attitude. But overall did a good groom job, extra £10 for the spa is not worth it though. It didn’t seem too clean either, saw other dogs hair still on the floor when we picked our dog up, lots of scratches and paint peeling on the walls, could be covered up/ replaced with a more suitable material if dogs are scratching the wall and the paint particles with it.

Was poor service and expensive over £100 for a puppy, this was back in 2019 and i never returned when they said it would cost even more next time.. (puppy and soft temperament yet they needed 2 groomers to complete the job)

They always do a great job cutting and washing our spaniel. The staff are very friendly and my dog seems to get on well with them.Be aware if you book online you may have a phone call at some point to take a deposit. I missed the call before my appointment and because of this they never booked me in meaning I had to make a new appointment.

Rang up for a appointment was told it was a bad line (even though I could here them) and they hung up . Rand again and left a message on their answer phone ( they never rang back)Funny way to run a business !Made a appointment at Woof and Buff in the end .We'll satisfied.

Went over for a free groom and wish I never of bothered. Very rude staff and I heard my dog yelping on the other side of the shop so I went over to see what was up with him for the wan to tell me that it was because I was stood outside. I was stood outside the place watching him after the sounds he was making . Another woman then come out and told me not to take pictures. Which I wasn't. I use pets at home very regularly and also use the vets 4 pets next door and they are brilliant. When I first booked him in they wanted a £15 deposit (fair enough) and when I went to leave I asked the woman if she had sorted the refund for the deposit and she said yes its done. 2 days later I've called up and asked for a refund for them to say I need to go in store to get the refund (15 miles away).I explained that I am not happy with the service and its not worth my time coming over to collect the £15 from them and asked them to refund me over the phone which they said they can't do. So I asked them why they think it's acceptable for them to say they've refunded me and then hadn't. The woman then put the phone down on me.I've had to call uttoxeter pets at home to contact them to deal with this for me and yet again they lied about not being able to refund over the phone. What an absolute shambles, you couldn't pay me to go there again. Groom room have really let the side down because pets at home and vets 4 pets are both brilliant and these people really let them down.Very Very rude, I don't know what it was if it was because it was free on my v.i.p card but I am extremely disappointed. After calling up today they have told me to ring the pets at home helpline fully knowing that the lines closed at moment. Talk about employing the unemployable.I thought with the brilliant experiences I've had shopping at pets at home and using the vets there that it would of been good but clearly not. That was my dogs first groom there and it will definitely be the last. Wish I never bothered even for free

Shocking!!So had my daughters dog booked in for the 18th August for a bath and cut. They called me on the 16th asking for a deposit - fair enough we thought. When i called them to ask if we could pay in full to save mucking about on the day, i was told that i couldn't pay in full, they only take a deposit as they don't know what condition my dog is in.....i explained that he just needed a quick trim (about 5-8mm) as he was groomed regularly elsewhere but due to illness she couldn't fit him in before we went on holiday. They told me i had just booked him in for a bath & blow dry (£32) which I hadn't as he needed a trim also but because of his breed it would need a 2hr 'styling' appointment started at £40+!! If they thought he needed longer than that the price would go up...The dog weighs about 4lb dripping wet and his coat is smooth - our normal groomer has him for about 45 mins!!!! It then became clear to me WHY i hadn't used them for him in the past. It just seemed like they were more interested in the cash to be made than the welfare of a dog needing a quick trim!! My advice, use someone else.

I booked my appointment only waited for a week only for them to call a couple of hours before to cancel it. I tried calling back to rearrange the appointment as thr and they weren't picking up. This got me to come to the store myself to rearrange the appointment. they weren't too friendly or apologetic about the inconvenience at all so I asked for my deposit back

Coco had a fantastic full groom. Girls did a fantastic job and great service. They did a much better job than my previous grooming place. Have booked again highly recommended.
