Ecosse Sports Car Hire

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Ecosse. We rented the automatic which was comfortable to cruise around Skye and the Highlands and take in the stunning scenery. The car was reliable and in great condition, and Alan was a delight to speak with. I highly recommend!

Hired an mx5 for a week to do the north coast 500, it was easy to arrange booking, collection and drop off with Alan. The car was really fun to drive and made the trip so much better. For an old Japanese car it was nice and clean when we picked it up and drove really well.Would recommend ecossesportscarhire to anyone who wants to add fun to their roadtrip.

3 day rental for visit to (mostly) distilleries and castles. Worked great though they ARE smaller cars. My son and I are both 6'+ so it wasn't a fast in-and-out of the car, but once in the car it was a blast to drive. We were lucky and had mostly good weather so we got to go topless much of the time. Alan was very responsive to our rental time/session. He picked us up from the train station and was flexible about the return. Reasonable rates for the car. No question I'll use him and his cars on our next visit.

Cannot recommend Alan and Ecosse Sports Car Hire highly enough. Such a reasonable cost to hire what is an absolutely perfect car for the routes around Scotland. Absolutely loved doing the NE250 and already planning the North Coast 500!

This really made our honeymoon special. Driving around the north west coast of Scotland on almost empty roads with the roof down and shattering the peace and quiet with the sports exhaust was one of the highlights of our trip, so much better than a dull regular hire car. The MX5 is low, hard and you feel everything as you drive so stopping to take pictures or for coffee regularly was required. Very easy to operate once you remember it doesn't have central locking and the indicator is on the right stalk not the left.Alan was very communicative and punctual. Included is a picture of the boot that fit a small hand luggage size suitcase and a couple of rucksacks (note there is a space saver spare wheel in there too).

Alan was responsive in correspondence and prompt in delivery / collection of the vehicle. The car itself was huge fun and in good shape notwithstanding its age. All in all a great experience!

We had a fantastic time renting from Ecosse Sports Car Hire. The car really made our trip, I couldn't think of a better way to see the Scottish highlands. The service provided was also very efficient and professional.

Smooth and flexible communication for receiving the car and starting our journey. Alan was very friendly and easy going!Regarding the car, we got the Satellite blue! It has a a nice exhaust sound with a retro vibe and feels nice to drive as you would expect from an MX-5. However, the reason I cannot give 5 stars is because the brakes were in poor condition and did not inspire confidence in sporty driving! The pedal engaged very low and the brakes felt weak (perhaps it needed bleeding and pads/discs).

If you enjoy driving and are prepared to leave the kitchen sink behind, look no further! We hired Sapphire Blue to drive the NC500, stopping 2 nights at most locations to allow time for some hiking. The car is a classic and in excellent condition, a pleasure to drive, and very reasonably priced. We drove with the top down when the weather allowed. It was quick and easy to put it up when needed. Alan from Ecosse was extremely helpful. The boot rack made it possible for us to pack for 12 nights away, including the hiking gear.
