Very disappointed with my experience Sandbox has lost a frequent customer. I discovered sandbox 2 years ago and since then have visited over 7 times. Every experience was also great apart from today when I was totally shocked by the APATHETIC customer service. From the moment we walked in they couldn’t check us in for our 10:40pm booking which we arrived on time for, the place was almost empty but we waited for 15 minutes while there were a few idle employees chatting amongst themselves. When we finally got into our game at 11:10 we were advised we’d still get the full 30 minute playing time, but they cut us off at 11:30 so we missed 10 minutes likely because they had to close. When I asked our attendant Ethan about whether we got the full time he said he “didn’t know” and that he’s “new”. I understand that things happen but to cut us off after making us pay an additional £90 upon arrival for a change of booking done more than 24 hours in advance, totaling £210 for 3 people, this is totally unacceptable that we didn’t even get an apology let alone a partial refund. When we got to watch our video recording of our game you can see they skipped over several segments of our squid game booking because in the video it shows our characters just standing idle for the parts that we didn’t get to play, images attached it was about one third of the whole game!!! The employees there didn’t know that my brother had already played the squid game with one of his friends and told us that when he played it was a longer experience including the games that we missed. The pre-formatted video edit probably forgot to cut out the clips of the games that we skipped, so it exposed the game attendants who lied to us about our playing time. This is all apart from the fact that the venue was filthy. I’ve been to other sandbox locations and the customer service there was always superb, this location was a complete disappointment and terrible value for money. Sandbox lost frequent customer

Overall, quite a disappointing experience for myself. My team enjoyed it; however, they also had no technical difficulties with their gear which is why I’m giving the experience 2 stars. Sadly, for me there were a few technical difficulties, my VR headset completely failed and had to be replaced.The way the VR headset failed was gradual where it started with tremendous amounts of lag before flickering from black to seeing the game back to black . This started happening about 5 minutes into our playtime of Deadwood Valley.Also, when I started to experience the issues, I was trying to get the attention of the staff by putting my hands up or calling for the game to be paused. After 1-2 minutes or so of this where she kept ignoring me, I eventually walked off the playing area and asked her why she hadn’t paused the experienced or tried to help me. She acted irritated like it was my fault. She also said that our game was being recorded (this is because of the video they make of you which you get at the end of playing). At this point, after I had walked off the playing area, she still refused to pause the game when I asked. My team then continued to play and enjoy the experience without me for about 5-8 minutes. During this time, she was trying to first reset my headset and eventually went to get a new one while I looked from the side as my team played. Then, when my headset issues were finally fixed, she paused the game to put me back in. That really shocked me, why did she pause it for me to step back into the playing area but not when I walked off due to the technical issues?By the time I was allowed back in, my team was already in the final area of the game, but by this point I was already quite irritated by the way the staff member had treated me. After the playtime was over, I asked for some compensation which was rejected. I find that quite ridiculous considering that I paid 45 GBP for the experience which is about 30 minutes, and that ended up being about:- 10 minutes to get set up.- 5 minutes playing without issues.- 8 minutes watching my team play.- 7 minutes playing the final area of the game while being irritated about the treatment I received from the staffI’ve also tried to request some form of compensation in an email directly to them since when I was at the venue they refused. If I do receive it, I’ll amend this review.TLDR: The experience was fun, at least until the technical difficulties started as well as getting irritated by the rude staff. However, I’m happy that my other 4 friends (who had no issues) did enjoy the game. Nonetheless, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth so I’m not sure if I’ll be too eager to return unless the tech becomes more reliable at SandboxVR, but also if after requesting a partial refund or some kind of compensation which I’ve tried over email as well keeps getting ignored.I've added the two images for reference from the trailer video they make for you of the playing experience at the end of the game.

Absolutely amazing! VR was so realistic! It was intense!The robot made the drinks and it was a new experience. Great place for a date!The staff was really good, great explanation of the activity and very helpful. Nice atmosphere overall. I don't usually do reviews but everyone should know about this place! Definitely returning soon ! 11/10

Mental. We played the StarTrek game. As first timers we soon got the hang of it. Lots of excited screaming. Massive fun and totally immersive. Need to go again. Robot arm bartenders give an indication of the budget put into this place. Love the technology world!

An amazing experience that will immerse you into a fantasy world of your choosing.Be aware you'll be moving around alot and standing for the whole session, so dress comfortably!You get a really cool video at the end of the session showcasing your experience both in the game, as well as what you look like running around in the real world!As a bonus there is a robot bartender that can mix a wider variety of cocktails while you wait for your time slot.There are cheaper slots mid week and during, before 5pm. Booking recommended!

Amazing experience. I've done VR before but this was nothing like others. 180 pound per session so depends on how many people you go with, price per person would be different. We were four of us so we paid 45 pound each.Before the experience, we thought it's a bit pricey for 30mins session, but after, we all agreed that it was worth money. Good group experience!Robot bartender was cool but both mine and my friend's drink had missing Ingredients, so staff had to do it again for us. But it was interesting experience.We did something with aliens and we would go back there to do other contents!

Can't comment on the games, because we just wanted to get a drink from the robot. What I can say is, it's a really nice place to chill and have a drink. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the robot bartender Tony was really cool to see

So much fun. We had a brilliant time here. This is several orders of magnitude better than the Meta Quest 2 experience because you have a haptic best, headphones, mic and weapon. Very immersive and the graphics are sharp and clear.Good service from the team there and they send you a great summary video of each players’ performance and team performance cutting between VR and real life video.Great experience and highly recommended. Best to go with you and four to five mates.

Amazing!! Incredibly realistic and tons of fun. The more people the better. We got squid game and for those who have seen the series just go there, it's practically an immersive experience. The robot-bar is cute as well. A bit pricey but definitely worth it!
