Classes are fun, hard work sometimes, and very helpful. Mikes advice is always geared to the individual and their dog, and no problem left unsolved. We have made a lot of friends at dog club and now training our third dog , having started as compete novices. Still plenty to learn.

Mike is a very knowledgeable and experienced dog trainer. His guidance is calm and his positive and structured training methods extremely well instructed. I have trained both my dogs to advanced level with Mike and wouldn't go anywhere else. There is good variety and advancement of technique in the classes. On 1-2-1 sessions Mike is very good at quickly identifying training tools to implement, which if followed consistently as needed, result in positive outcomes. I have had good success with impulse control and behavioural improvement following Mike's instruction.

I first took my puppy to Mike nearly four years ago and we both had an invaluable journey: puppy class, bronze, silver and gold levels and on to the advanced class. Listen to what he says and take his instructions on board and you will be fine. Mike doesn't beat about the bush and says it as it is so this is exactly what I needed as I find instructions difficult if not expressed properly. We have had to take a short break but look forward to going back to classes soon. We still keep in touch and is always willing to help.

This was the worst dog training session I have been to. So we paid for a 6 week block of puppy training session and they were absolutely appalling. You spend about 40 minutes listening to him talk about his dogs and marbury park and only 5 minutes of the puppies doing any work. And to top it off he only gave 5 lessons out of 6 and no mention of a refund for the 6th session which was caused by him having to cancel. We have since found an alternative trainer where the puppies do 45 minutes of activity rather than just sitting there doing nothing. Furthermore I was really annoyed in the way he spoke to people and belittle people and really was not professional. Overall this was the worst dog training I have ever been to would not recommend at all!!!

Mike was absolutely fantastic, helping us 1-2-1 with our Ridgeback puppy and we then attend the Marbury Park sessions. Our dog is a good bit past being a puppy now but his behaviour is something we are constantly proud of - thanks Mike!

Mike is a very experienced dog trainer and has the knowledge to point out ways of getting round problems we may have with our dogs. Our second dog was a rescue who had severe fear aggression having been badly treated. With Mike's help and encouragement he passed all the KC good citizens awards and became a member of Mike's display team. Without his guidance the dog would have had a fearful life at best. Mike will expect the owner to do their bit and practice what they have been told, so don't expect one hour's training a week will solve all your problems. Highly recommended.

Trained my Collie with Mike, I learnt so much about my dog, got him through kennel club certification which I thought would be impossible. Great classes and trainer.

I was recommended by my vets to visit Mike with my puppy and he has been brilliant. I have attended a few different dog trainers over years of owning dogs and whilst everyone has their own way I have found Mike's approach to be straightforward and easy to understand. He is open and direct and extremely knowledgeable about the day to day issues of owning a puppy and how to train it effectively. He uses the right balance of reward based training without too much fuss and never uses any sort of fear based correction techniques. I also brought along my 6 year old Labrador to his intermediate classes and both Mike and the other handlers are very welcoming and friendly. Molly and I can't wait for Saturday mornings and his approach has really helped me to focus on my dogs and ensure they are well trained. I have to say if you don't like the truth then you may feel at times awkward when Mike corrects YOU rather than your dog but as a responsible dog owner it is always down to my lack of consistency, control or correction which leads to problems with my dogs. It's not the dog's fault and as long as you are able to understand that Mike is there to help and support you then I think he really is the best dog trainer I have met.

I used Mike a while ago to help us get our rather boisterous spaniel puppy under control as he wouldn’t do a thing we said! The training was logical and calm, and by the end of the sessions all made sense. We now have a dog that does as it’s told. Thanks Well Heeled.
