The Groom Room Newtownabbey

I have a large rather nervous greyhound. He's been at the groom room twice. First time he was OK, this time he was really nervous going in. Absolute kudos the the girls in the salon, they are totally wonderful with him. A huge thank you to them.

Left my dog for full groom, paid arround £45.... My dog have cuts behind ear and on the belly... Hair isn't shave off evenly... She look like I did it myselfNot a happy customer at all

Took our dog to have a groom at 5, so arrived at 4.55 and the girl said the groomer-Laura i think?-would be busy for another 10 mins so we could either leave him in a crate or just walk around with him and come back in 10, so we took him for a walk around the store. We walked around for about 10 mins and came back to see she was still busy with the other dog. We waited in the aisle opposite the door for the groom room (during this time our dog was getting quite unsettled). At 17.20 we had enough and went in, as she was clearly finished the other dog. When we said we had booked for 5 she replied saying “well i’m not taking your dog as your half an hour late” to which we replied “we’ve been here the whole time, the woman at reception told us to wait outside”, for her to reply “well she never told me”-we’ve been standing in the fish aisle with a dog whilst staring in at you? Her attitude was extremely rude and we got the feeling that she didn’t care about her dogs, and offered to bathe the dog but not dry him? which is extremely unprofessional and could be dangerous to let a wet dog out into the cold wind. We got maybe one half hearted apology and only refunded our £15 deposit after we requested it. Manager offered us a free groom but to be honest i wouldn’t trust her at all and so we declined. I understand mistakes happen but it’s how you deal with them after which makes up for them.

Sadly my wee Mitzi of almost 14 years has gone now. The groomers were just wonderful girls and looked after her so well

If you ever want a place to take yr dog for anything this place is the best the staff are so friendly and very helpful I take my dog simber there and he loves them they take great care with him I am well happy leaving him there with them.

Over the years I have owned 5 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Am very fussy as to how they are groomed. Just picked up no 5 this morning looking and smelling beautiful. Absolutely perfect. Girls have a lovely way of dealing with the dogs and more importantly for me, they know how to groom Cavaliers!! Have used in the past and certainly I intend to use again in the future.

Sadly will not be back with my dog for a groom here ,which is a shame as had been using the groom room for few years now , our dog was booked in to have full groom and de shed a couple of weeks ago but when collected him, not on lead , so as excited did not get good look at what had been done and as the girl was running round after him to put on the cologne as she said had forgot , when got home very disappointed in the cut , he looks half finished all around his coat and still a lot of hair coming off him, which I know doesn't happen if groomed correctly as has been done in the past . Each time I look at him it's making me cross as paid £57 for full groom and de shed which the dog has not had correctly , the girl had commented he was shaking a bit , which is not usually him , but she said another big dog out the back, maybe that was why, but taking the payment from me , I would expect the complete package delivered , and best practice in place, for dealing with all dogs and if unsettled I feel lots of effort always goes in to the smaller dogs , which is visible when you go in , I felt the girl dealing with the dog should have showed more care and attention to the cut and service we paid for and expected.
