Gwena Dental Care

Beware of this dentist - they will undercharge you for treatment and then ask for the difference when you go for your next visit, even if it is some years later. They will glance at your mouth/teeth and then proceed to reel off a list of an expensive treatments that are ‘necessary’ although you have no dental pain/issues. One to avoid that’s for sure!

Amy Woolley and the team has been amazing with my son. She made him & myself feel at ease throughout the whole experience. My son's teeth were perfectly straight after only 7 months and his big beaming smile is enough to make anyone happy.

Started Invisalign in January 2023 and completed in October 2023. Was recommended Gwena by a friend. Had a fantastic experience throughout. Regular check ups during treatment. Gwena were quick to agree any additional ad-hoc appointments as required (for example when a couple of attachments came off my teeth) and all of this was included in the upfront price. Flexible payment options meant that I didn’t have to fork out the whole balance upfront. I highly recommend Gwena. Thanks to my practitioner Amy for everything.

Very operative! I have had an emergency and they helped me immediately. Very friendly and professional people. I booked again for a larger consultation. Long hall to get through as the building is constructed like that but easy to find at the first floor. The main entrance must be better signalised but also Tesco staff helping with guidance. Come earlier if you are first time visiting as is necessary to complete a form. High quality and high prices too. I’m happy to finally find a place to sort out implants in Cardiff.

I had Invisaligns from Gwena and now after they’ve been taken off, I’ve noticed that I have hairline fractures in most of my teeth. It has recently gotten worse to the point where I’m in pain and may need a root canal in one tooth. They did not tell me this could occur especially when I paid a few thousand pounds for them. Wouldn’t recommend

I had a big problem with my teeth and trouble finding a dentist who wanted to help me and start treatment.I will add that I had a rather bad experience with dentists before and I was simply afraid.Gwena Dental, in my opinion, is a very professional place, the ladies at the reception are very nice and very helpful, everything is done quickly and professionally, I am immediately informed about any change of appointment to my email and phone, great.Elizabeth Willoughby, brilliant, always super nice. She had quite a challenge and a lot of work in my case. Gwena used to be amazing, i just dont know whats happened. Now they contantly cancel appointments so its impossible to be seen. Im juggling work and my kids so i always make appointments well in advance because i can not afford to take time off work plus one of my children has a disability , so the appointments i need have to be after school hours. which often means having to wait months to be seen. But guaranteed when it gets close i will receive an email reminder of a completely different date. Which means that i constantly have to ring to ask whats happened to our original appointments, and to be told AGAIN that our appointments have been cancelled and rearranged. So AGAIN i have to say that i have to have after school appointments and as usual they say that nothing is available for another month+........which they end up cancelling anyway. My sister is also registered there but not once have her appointments ever been cancelled but thats probably because she's private and im NHS. Booking and rebooking/ contantly having to repeat the same conversation is extremely frustrating. I can not help but think that this is just a way they treat NHS patients and dont care if they go somewhere else. I asked my sister to ring about an after school appointment because she is a private patient and she was offered an appointment for the next week. So in my experience with Gwena, if your NHS then expect to have your appointments constantly cancelled and be prepared to wait months, although you may be fine with Gwena if yours days are free or you have a extremely flexible job. However if your private then im certain you will receive a much better service.

I’ve been going to gwena dental care for a year for Invisalign treatment with Amy. Amy and the team have been excellent throughout my treatment and really made me feel at ease. Amy did everything she could to help me in explaining each step.Sometimes She has even gone above and beyond to fit me in if Ive had issues or concerns Thank you I will be back
