We had dinner here and it was really good. Service was very polite and welcoming, the food very good indeed, although beware the portions are generous. I like large meals and enjoy good food so this was a perfect choice for me.I certainly recommend eating here if you get the opportunity. We definitely will be back.Well done to all there.

Dinner on a sunny Thursday evening in August. My dinner companion had been delayed by an accident so had to take a detour. I decided that on such a lovely warm evening I'd get a beer and wait outside on the terrace in the lovely sunshine. The bar was cozy country pub" and the two young ladies behind the bar cheerful to the point of effervescent. The cask was Tim Taylor's Knowle Spring the young lady who served me apologised that it was a blonde ale

I had lunch here with a friend and we both commented that it was the best haddock and chips we'd ever had. All of the batter was edible, which is rare in our experience. The food also arrived quickly and the staff were polite. We will definitely return.

Great staff, great food, good range of beers and well stocked bar. Also spotlessly clean not just in the rooms but in all communal areas. Well worth a visit

We stayed here as we were breaking up a journey from the North East to Norfolk. A beautiful country pub, perfectly maintained and restored / extended, and with the most unbelievable food and service. One negative is the noise in the rooms from other residents' rooms, but apart from that it was perfect, and in a wonderful village.

Rooms in hotel are lovely, rooms in extension are a bit souless but comfortable. Food is traditional pub grub but tasty, there are a couple of slightly more adventurous options such as guinea fowl. Location is second to none if the weather is up to sitting out. Service was a bit slow at times with the impression that they were understaffed for the volume of clients.

We stayed here for 2 nights at just under £90 per night. The mattress was very soft, and we both woke with backache. I banged my leg on the bed frame every single time I walked past as there wasn't much space to manoeuvre. In the bathroom, the space between the wall, toilet & shower screen was minimal. We both struggled with knocking the toilet roll off every time and banging our bums on the shower screen! We were woken up by extremely creakey floorboards from the neighbouring rooms. On the plus side, the staff were absolutely amazing, completely overworked, but always helpful. The food was OK. No beans on the breakfast, which at the time we thought was odd, but we thoroughly enjoyed it!

This was our first visit to The Finch Hatton and it is undeniable we will stay there again without hesitation if circumstances allow. Our room was good, so too was the ensuite bathroom. It looked out over the back of the building away from the carparking area, thus ours was a quiet room - very much appreciated. Initially the room was a little chilly but the hotel's heating system soon took away that minor annoyance. The building is relatively old, originally a hunting lodge I believe. As a consequence the property does have the odd quirk to it, but that for us just enhanced its charm. The bar was inviting and was used by some of its neighbours as their local". The dining room was comfortable and produced some very good freshly cooked meals. We ate there both nights of our stay and were not disappointed in the least. The Hatton's staff were good

My stay here for two nights was great, comfortable room, great shower, beautiful surroundings, and the restaurant and pub were excellent. Everyone, staff, local patrons, were friendly and welcoming. The food was really good, from pizza (who knew, pizza in England) to a steak dinner. Wonderful place.
