Cue Ball

I visited Cue Ball to play UK pool today at 11 to beat the queue. There are 2 UK pool tables, 3 USA 9 ball tables, 3 snooker tables round the back and 3 dart boards with digital counters. The TVs were displaying sport with no audio as the sound system was playing music, but not too loud. I was really impressed at the quality of the table and balls. No need to take cues as there are plenty to loan if required. Staff were friendly. No bookings required, which is another bonus. Will be going back again. Plenty of free parking round the back.

Staff are great, tables are too close together and been used to death but what else can you expect. Great food and drink.

Been a few times now with the mates to play snooker. Plenty of tables and fairly priced so will defo be going back again. Not tried the food yet but when I do I will update on here what it's like.

The ginger women behind the bar verbally abused me after telling me once I needed my mask on. She continued to kick me out of the pub for absolutely no reason at all. It’s disgusting and I hope never to experience it again. However the other staff members were totally reasonable and actually tried to help.

Friendly atmosphere, very reasonably priced food. Good selection of drinks.

Friendly atmosphere with comfortable seating area. Has pool tables and a good number of snooker tables all in very good condition. Table rates are reasonable. Price of drinks is about average for Sheffield. I would recommend this place for an evening of pool or snooker with the mates. Has bar food on offer at reasonable cost. Parking is around the back through a passageway & Free WiFi. Ask at the bar for the password.

28/12/22Giving 3 stars (down from 4) because of their change in pricing over Christmas. They used to have a day rate for the tables (up until 6pm), then hourly. You could also do hourly up until 6pm if you weren't staying too long. However, now it's hourly all the way through. It does smack of greed TBH. No doubt it'll go back to day rate after the holiday, but as a customer I can't support the money grabbing (for lack of a better phrase) while it's busy.I go here just to play American pool, and my review is based on that.On the plus side, the table I use (the match table) is half decent - reasonable response from the cushions, good speed and plenty of room. It is getting a bit sticky now and is in dire need of changing. They even have a couple of large fans as it does get a bit warm in there. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is also free parking at the rearOn the minus side, where the table is located, is the thoroughfare to the snooker room, and most of them just go waltzing on through even when you're down on the shot. It's really off putting. One or two will wait, although it's obvious they want to pass so I tend to get up anyway and start again.This isn't anyone's fault per se, just an unfortunate result from the layout of the rooms. BTW, I'm told there's another snooker room upstairs although I haven't actually been in it.Also on the minus side is....(drum roll).. all that bloody godawful music. The latest charts or R n B. It's really not what you want when you're trying to concentrate.As a place to visit with your mates, it's just the thing. As a place for serious practice, it's only great if it's quiet and if there's a playlist that doesn't make your ears bleed.

Wouldn’t let me in because I’m 13 when my birthday is in a couple of days and made me wait outside for an hour on my own

friendly staff,good beer, good place to knock a few balls around.

Place is good for sports fans. Live football etc. Also good for pub games. Prices for drinks are a little high.
