Townhouse No 12

Easy access, no issues, room was large. Just dark and blinds were drawn due to window overlooking the back garden which needs some TLC.I understand house rules but the front door had too many and then repeated inside too. I'd just remove them, make a room booklet with it all in.I'd add some wall lights to make it brighter.All these are just little things but all in all no problems at all.

I have stayed here twice so far and I will definitely return next time I'm in Huddersfield.It's a lovely quiet house with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, a good shower, a mini fridge, Netflix...everything you need and it's spotlessly clean.Joan, the manager, is an absolute legend who goes above and beyond for her guests ! The communication with Joan was very good. She answered all my questions promptly and even solved some of my problems for me, like booking a taxi during the railway strike or storing my luggage while I went to the Hella Mega gig at John Smith's stadium - thank you very much again Joan !The stadium is in walking distance from the house and so are the town centre, good restaurants and a Tesco super store.

The email confirmation did not actually specify that after 6pm, there is literally NO WAY TO GET IN - you have to call them AHEAD OF TIME to arrange access.When I arrived at 8pm, there was nobody at reception, the place was dark and locked up and the mobile listed on the door went straight to voicemail (bizarre - would you switch off your phone and go to sleep at 8pm if you knew you had someone who booked to stay?). I left my name and number as requested, but alas, no reply. Like, ever. The sign on the door also said that we are not to bang on the door, which would indicate that this happens on a regular basis.Who knows what it's like inside? Maybe there are other rules in addition to the arrival curfew - lights out at 8pm? Group calisthenics and cold showers at 5am? Or perhaps shared different-coloured towels for different body parts, like in The League of Gentlemen? I guess I'll never know - after waiting in the cold drizzle outside for a while, I trundled off with my suitcase through the dark streets of a city I don't know to look for another hotel. Premier Inn next time.

Townhouse no12 has a perfect distance from Huddersfield train station (9 min walk) and the room was clean. Good shower in the room (original), but it was perfectly fine. The landlord (Joan) was very friendly and helpful. Toilet in the hallway in this room (clean). The bed was good. Please note that you must make an appointment on time of arrival (time). The landlord will contact you (e-mail or phone). I would recommend the place.

Poor experience with this hotel so be careful when paying online for a room. I never got to stay at the establishment which is a shame. The hotel looked good and I got a room on short notice. I received a confirmation email about the booking and everything looked good. I later got an email from the hotel saying the card was declined so I needed to provide alternate card details even though I already received confirmation. Turned out that the hotel hadn’t been paid by their online partner which had nothing to do with me since my card was already charged. I contacted the hotel to see if the manager could help but she said she couldn’t confirm the booking or do anything else until receiving the payment. Instead of making efforts to contact the online partner (agoda) herself and get money, she had me the customer go back and forth with them. I didn’t enjoy this experience at all and found the parties involved to be quite unhelpful and slow, especially when I was in urgent need of the room for business reasons. They have kept the money for the empty room and refuse to refund which is fine but I hope no one else has to go through this in the future. I have now lost the money and never got to make my trip which is quite unideal. I can’t speak on the room service or hotel experience however Bad experience overall with this hotel.

This place was just the ticket for us, the room was big with a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, tv, shower and sink, and a fan.Will certainly return if staying in Huddersfield again, Joan and Ange both very friendly and lovely to talk to.The location is perfect for the train station, town centre, plenty of food options and shops around, nothing more than a 5 minute walk really.Thanks again!

booked 2 twin rooms for green day concert.communication from manager Joan was very good.deposit was refunded about 5 mins after checkout time.Good clean basic rooms with TV and sink, no ensuite toilet/bathroom, shared with other guests ,no problems as we knew this,Great location under 10mins from station,cheap car parking across the road,would stay again if needed accommodation in Huddersfield

I had a lovely large Victorian room, with a shower and sink. The toilet was shared and lovely and clean. My room was clean and the bed comfy. There is a shared kitchen which was supplied with typical juice, cereal, bread etc. So breakfast was easy and so relaxed. The area is very quiet and only a short walk from the train station and also the city centre where there were plenty of restaurants. Some of the fixtures are a little tired, but I believe there is a renovation plan coming.Very happy to recommend clean, quiet and affordable.

Just say this hotel is one of the better ones in Huddersfield. Booked a 4 night stay and whilst there had a very comfortable bed. Rooms are easily sufficient size wise. There’s smart tvs, sinks in the rooms, fans in the rooms is a nice touch for the warmer nights too. The cleaner has a great personality too so not like most. Very cosy hotel, very welcoming and the staff are very polite. Very close to local transport links, a 24/7 gym and 24/7 shop so all in all it’s a great place to stay. Very highly recommended and will definitely be coming again :DThank you very much Townhouse number 12!

The host Joan could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. She worked round my uncertain arrival time and was there to personally greet me and show me how breakfast worked and to my room, which she kindly upgraded free of charge ! The deluxe room where I stayed is very spacious with its own shower. The toilet is next door. The kitchen is equipped with bread, croissants, cereals, eggs, real coffee cafetieres and juices to prepare your own breakfast - and you can prepare your own food there at other times of the day. My bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet enabling a very good night's sleep. Thank you Joan for a great stay - would thoroughly recommend !!
