After much searching online I thankfullycame across Dean Ashton I felt that he had the approach that I was looking forand on our first meeting he did not let me down. A natural with dogs, and packs in a whole load of helpful information that I could take away and put into action each and every day. I have a great relationship with my houndand every walk is a joyful experience.Dean is very easy to get along with and has your dogs best interests at heart. Thanks DeanEver greatful!Patrick

It was love at first sight for Jeff when he met Dean. We’d had a Zoom session before I even collected him as an 8 Wk old puppy & I can’t recommend starting that early highly enough! We’ve had several face to face sessions since then & Jeff as a one year old mini w/h dachsie is trained, happy, confident & my little spirit animal. Thank you x

We brought our dog to Dean to include more structure in her life, and with just one session, he gave us so many tactics, exercises, and games to use in our day-to-day to give our dog a richer life. We immediately began implementing what he taught us, and we've already seen a clear difference. She's much calmer and more fulfilled!

Dean has been an absolute godsend. Firstly with my older dog who suffered with separation anxiety and secondly with training our new puppy to walk nicely on the lead and recall etc. So many great tips that are so easy to implement on a daily basis and always taught with kindness, empathy and gentleness towards the dogs. Would highly recommend.

We went to Dean with our 4-month old Northern Inuit - Lumie - and he helped us massively in raising her. It was so refreshing to have a trainer who cares so deeply about the dog’s happiness. Dean’s style helped us understand our dog, before giving her the freedom to be calm and happy, within a reasonable set of guidelines. No shouting, no telling off, just lots of fun training with good behaviours reinforced positively. The result is that we have a very happy dog, and we’ve enjoyed the journey. Would highly recommend!

Like the other reviews, Dean really is that good. Incredibly smart and understands dogs behaviours in a way I’ve never seen. He makes it really fun and is ultimately training us humans. I’d Reccomended to anyone really serious about learning how to get the best relationship with their puppy. We love you Dean!

Stan, had terrible car anxiety. He would do everything he could to avoid getting in the car, then when he was in the car he would shake and pant uncontrollably. It made me so anxious! It’s really difficult to put into words what Dean did. I think the easiest way to describe it is to say that he helped me feel more confident about my ability to manage the situation, (Stan’s my first ever dog). I had become incredibly anxious about stan being anxious. It’s taken several months of hard work, doing the things Dean very patiently taught me to do, but it’s really paid off. Thank you Dean.

Dean is a real dog-whisperer". Our puppy was becoming anxious and nervous following a couple of unfortunate moments with aggressive dogs. Dean's focus is to encourage and be positive which has worked a charm. Our puppy is back to his happy and confident self

Don't normally do Google Reviews but felt compelled in this case as we've had such a positive experience. We’ve had 3 sessions with Dean so far and they’ve been worth every penny. We have a 9 month lagotto called Patsy who we got at 8 weeks. Lagottos are very active dogs and, as Dean told us, very smart so need plenty of exercise and stimulation. Recall / walking off lead on the Heath has been a big priority for us.The first session was a video call nearly 2 weeks after we got Patsy and we wish we’d had it sooner. We mainly focussed on toilet training and house training tips, as well as how to approach chewing behaviour. Dean sent over a really useful email after with options for food and equipment (e.g. leads, harnesses, toys, etc).Second session was on the Heath and we mainly focussed on recall and loose lead walking. Dean also gave us useful tips on what to be aware of with other dogs while out walking - stuff like watching out for dogs with muzzles on, older dogs likely being more relaxed around puppies, etc.Our third session was at home, where we mainly focussed on impulse control (eg jumping up on hind legs to look on the kitchen counter for food, similar jumping when greeting people, etc).We wasted a decent chunk of money signing up for some group lessons in Archway with another trainer. We stopped going after a couple of sessions (think we'd signed up for 6 and pre-paid) - I'm sure group sessions are a good idea but the trainer kept talking nonsense about dogs not respecting humans and her preferred method of training seemed to be trying to throttle them. Pretty sure even just those 2 sessions might have caused some trauma, so great to work with Dean with his positive training style. We’ve had great progress after all our sessions and always come away feeling really positive, which is super important - it can be tough at times with a young dog. We also really enjoy the sessions with Dean - he's funny, a very relaxed character, clearly loves his work and it's quite amusing trying to guess if people and dogs we're about to pass know Dean (seems like half the Heath do). Dean has really helped us think about Patsy's behaviour in terms of what she wants from a situation - and then start to think about how we can still satisfy what she wants so she doesn't get frustrated, but in a way that works for us as well.Randomly, someone on our street also has a lagotto and they said they knew a good trainer called Dean - we were already working with Dean but good to also get that reassurance that his methods work as their dog is a couple of years now.
