- Management love to micromanage your time, just to seem busy, in contrast they’re mostly sat eating biscuits and drinking tea besides berating staff for problems they’ve caused because of their ineffective communication and idiotic decisions. To follow, it is very evident that Management see you as a mere pawn or minion and are just using you to get the product, no warmth. They tend to belittle staff at any perceived slight, if you make even a simple, unintentional mistake they’ll come down on you like a sack of bricks.- Management will clock-watch you in the break-room to make sure you don’t take a minute extra break, then berate staff in front of everyone to make a point. This relates to the current Team-leader at the facility, they should be avoided like the plague.- Blame is passed down to the lowest ranks, if somethings goes wrong as things do, it ALWAYS must’ve been a staff-member intentionally trying to ‘sabotage’ the process, a running joke within the facility as this was actually believed by the Management.- Training is convoluted and hard to complete to a level where you feel confident, as qualified Trainers tend to work normal day shifts, Monday - Friday, so you always end up missing them. Some Trainers do not even answer your emails so you’re generally left in the lurch whilst getting harassed by both the Training department and management for not being trained, knowing full well that you cannot train yourself and in the time-frame they desire.- Very high turnover, sometimes it was 3+ per week handing in resignations, which put more and more pressure on existing staff for no extra compensation.- Staff are effectively ‘care-takers’ doing medial-tasks that you’d complete in primary-school spelling lessons, being as a consequence of production always stopping abruptly and prematurely because the company would rather put a plaster on equipment than address the underlying problem that would save them time/money in the future.- Ineptitude by current and former CEO’s that resulted in 1 in 3 people being made redundant whilst upper-management keep their jobs and get pay-rises.- Unwelcoming environment for newbies who are thrown in the deep-end at the start as they’re given every bit of training at once with arbitrary deadlines instated that did not reflect process running dates.Basically you have to train yourself by chasing after Trainers and fill in forms to try and rush your trading so that it’ll be marked off your training-record. This made an aspect of the job very dangerous as rushing training concerning large, pressurised vessels could’ve not ended well. More concern was put on the theory, reading through a document and answering some questions than actually getting hands on experiencing the process.- Very very low-morale, most staff are leaving or in the process of finding another job where they’re taken seriously.- Toxic gossiping/‘throw them under the bus’ mentality.- Subpar equipment and blame for said equipment affecting the product-yield.- Management force you to ‘look busy’ even if there’s physically nothing left to do for a few hours so that it makes them look good when senior management visit.- Use fear of job-loss if little mistakes are made, no empathy and very draconian.
