We had a wonderful weekend on the river. Five adults and two children - plenty of space aboard the lovely Gema. Rob gave us an informative introduction to the boat and we felt very at home. The beds are very comfortable and beautifully made up on arrival. We had a brief training / handover session as we’re experienced canal boaters then headed down river. We will be back for a spring cruise with My River Cruising.

Just returned from a long weekend aboard the Georgia - our first time on a canal boat holiday. Lovely boat, great training and service from Jane, Rob and the others. The boat was very well equipped in the kitchen and throughout. It was clean, pleasantly-decorated, and in good condition. It was easy to pilot and moor, and going through the locks was quickly grasped, thanks to Jane's advice and the initial training and handover. We felt safe with regard to Covid precautions, and once on the river, forgopt there was even a pandemic on. A very relaxing break for the whole family.

This was a totally brilliant experience from start to finish. From the very beginning, Jane could not have been more helpful when going through the booking process. We had some logistical complexities with our party and coordinating different dates for a week on one boat with family (on Georgia) and then an additional booking of a second boat (Gina) for the Rewind Festival weekend at Henley (we kept Georgia also for the Rewind festival but had a new set of friends boarding for the weekend only). Jane was so helpful in managing the bookings of both boats and dealt patiently with all our enquiries about mooring, pick up and drop offs for various people in our party (some joined us at the boat pick up point, others joined us in Henley so all in all alot to coordinate and as we were not at all familiar with sailing timings and we had critical timings to meet for the Rewind moorings in Henley which we had booked, Jane gave so much helpful advice, including car-parking arrangements at the boat pick up in Caversham). The helpfulness and patience made a massive difference to us in making the booking and in helping us to make all the arrangements with family and friends coming to the boats from literally all corners of the country and at all different times. The boats were immaculate and so well kept. Georgia was spacious and so comfortable for 8 people and has all amenities on board which we needed for a full week. Bedding and rooms on board were all spotless and the whole experience on board was perfect for a week with the family and parents and then a weekend of partying with friends for the Rewind festival. Gina which we hired for the weekend was perfect for 6 of us and the facilities and layout were again superb. On both boats, the bathrooms, toilets, and the kitchen and cooking facilities, as well as the dining and sitting areas, were all fantastic. We could not have wished for a more perfect couple of boats to enjoy relaxed time and to share with friends. As well as Jane, we would especially like to thank Rob for all his superb help, and again his patience with us (!) as some of us were boating novices. He was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble in explaining how the boats all worked. He (and Jane) even had to take calls from us in the middle of the night when we (due to our own fault!) needed technical advice on the water and pump - all was done with incredible good grace, warmth, humour, and above all helpful guidance. I could not imaging booking a river cruise or boating holiday with a more professional and caring company who felt like they totally had our needs in mind and who we felt projected a genuine and sincere desire for nothing more than for us all to have a brilliant and memorable time, which thanks to them and the wonderful boats, we did. When first boarding we also had a short demo trial 'lesson' on driving the boats and the 2 members of the team who helped us with this were also increibly helpful and patient and a fount of hints and tips for driving, steering and mooring the boats as well as navigating the locks. We would highly recommend My River Cruising and both the boats Georgia and Gina to anyone wanting a relaxing river cruising holiday, in the hands of a company where eberyoen clearly really cares about you having a good time. Totally memorable. First rate. And can't recommend highly enough.

We recently had a 4 night break in boat Georgia, we had a wonderful time as a family of 5, there was plenty of space on board, the boat was comfortable, clean and very well equipped. All the staff were friendly and helpful, Really would recommend to anyone looking for this kind of break. Looking forward to my next holiday with,My River Cruising.

Not sure where to start - during handover we found feaces in the toilet and was advised it was residue from a pump out which is not what you want to hear! So Jane wiped them over with our cleaning products and gave us some deodoriser to help with the awful smell! The cups were dirty as was the cutlery they even had beer bottles left in there! The blinds in the kitchen were splattered with dead bugs so never been wiped ...... The shower was scalding so we couldn't wash properly, we were looking forward to getting off. The kettle was also full of thick limescale that fell into cups of tea as you poured so we went and purchased a travel kettle. Jane had us disembark at better boating yard and a dog ran over and bit into my dogs neck it took two adults to get this dog away, one of our party was sick from shock and witnessing such an awful scene! Jane was not apologetic in the slightest, her husband did come over to check our dog would be ok and advised the dog had done the same to theirs and it shouldn't have been let out. Just not a very nice experience as we expected a lovely relaxing trip and it wasn't as clean as the pictures have you believe luckily we tried to stay out and about as much as possible because of the smell, and the dog incident was irresponsible the boat owner should have checked it was a safe area for her guests to disembark. Please take air freshener and watch your kids and dogs when booking!

Another fabulous trip with my river cruising. The boat is an absolute delight, such a cool way to travel. Beds super comfy, slept like a baby. Everything you could possibly need when I'm holiday! Normally we only go on Geanna for Rewind festival but seriously thinking about a week long boating holiday now.As always looked after by Rob and really hope to see them all again.A holiday with a difference.

We had a great time aboard the narrowboat Gina travelling over 3 nights on the River Thames from Reading to Moulsford. The boat was clean, comfortable and well appointed, we had a very thorough teaching session before leaving and felt confident on the river in spite of this being only our second trip on the water. We had a mobile number for the company which was helpful and were given advice on routes and where to moor. The company was very efficient to deal with, all emails answered promptly with all the information we needed sent on booking. Many thanks for an enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend, we will certainly use MyRiverCruising again.

Once again another fantastic ladies only REWIND Festival weekend away on boat Geanna, we absolutely love this boat and hire it every year for the festival. We had a lovely welcome from Sam & Rob on arrival to the boat yard. The complimentary slippers were a lovely touch this year as were the fleece blankets especially when sailing on the Friday in the cold & rain. Always fresh bedding and towels and cleaned to a good standard. This is definitely our home from home when attending the festival. Bob x

We have been on holiday several times with these guys and they are great. I've owned a boat in the past and know all the effort that is involved in keeping them clean, safe and reliable. Myrivercruising gets 10/10.The team there have worked tirelessly through lockdown to ensure you can still get away and the handover videos and notes are very thorough. We've holidayed with 2 kids and 2 dogs and all have been safe and really enjoyed ourselves.The Thames is a joy to boat on at peak and off season. It's one of the country's natural wonders... A balance of nature, Riverside bling and the odd pirate ship.I would recommend Myrivercruising to anyone interested in boating or a change from the norm. We've had several chats with other people on the river who have hired other boats up and down the Thames, everyone has remarked on the quality and charm of the myrivercruising boats.Knowing what it costs to run and maintain a narrow boat / widebeam, I also think the breaks represent really good value for money.Treat yourselves!Billy

Absolutely fantastic. The kids (teenagers at both ends) and I needed a treat, something to do together. We love renting little boats, so we figured we'd take it further and go for RYA Helmsman certificates.We had Gema for the weekend; a gorgeous 69ft narrowboat. Our experience was limited to the little four seaters that you hire by the hour in Marlow or Henley, so you can imagine how daunted we were when we first saw her. Jane was our instructor and kept us perfectly on that fine line of feeling challenged but also comfortable. By the end of the first day after practicing turning, locks and mooring we were confident enough to take Gema down to Sonning from Caversham lock on our own, turn her around, moor for the night and then bring her back to Caversham the next morning to pick up Jane and learn more of the good stuff.That journey back upstream to Caversham was a highlight. Waking the kids up with bacon sandwiches, seeing them work together to set us off and then a magical early Sunday morning glide on a mist laden glass-smooth Thames that we had all to ourselves for an hour. I'm not going to forget that.Gema was spotlessly clean when we boarded her. Fresh crisp sheets on all three double beds, white towels and a pristine kitchen. We didn't use the log burner, but we did give the central heating a quick blast on a chilly morning and it soon warmed us all up. The kitchen is surprisingly well kitted out; fridge/freezer, oven, grill, four burners. We only brought simple food but it was quick and easy to knock up lunch when not driving the boat or assisting.Jane was a perfect teacher. She knew what to do in every situation, she knew what risks could arise and she let us know so that we could learn to preempt problems. Her experience and love of boating shone through. She also seemed to know most of the people on the river!It took a lot of concentration and Jane's patient teaching to help us, but all three of us passed and we're thrilled. The original aim of the weekend was to get the qualifications together, but I didn't expect it to be so much fun. I write this review at home on my bed on Sunday night, tired but really happy. The kids are going to sleep well tonight.Thanks Jane!
