About the Business
St Bernadette's Catholic Church | The parish was dedicated to St. Bernadette, the visionary of Lourdes. Fr Albert Lakin of Holy Souls (1929-1949) bought, in 1940 on a site in Ashby sufficient for a new church and priest’s house. In 1939 he opened a Mass-centre, which was housed in hired rooms (an Anglican church hall served the purpose at one time) until 1950. A temporary chapel was then built with voluntary labour, and opened on 26 October 1950. The present church was consecrated in December 1980, and a parish centre, originally built as St. Bernadette’s Catholic Social Club in 1965 , was rebuilt and enlarged in 1999 .

St Bernadette
Didn't got to the church, just attended a meeting in the hall. As an atheist I find it disappointing that non religious meetings use these places.

I dropped my mother in law off for mass. She thoroughly enjoyed the service.

Lovely church, the priest was very welcoming. Although it was a funeral we attended, the service was lovely

This is my church whenever I visit Scunthorpe. I always attend the Vigil and each time I notice how vibrant the community is. Somehow I always feel recharged. But then that's the scope of going to Mass.

Great community, you could see the friendliness of the parishioners from miles away. Stop in for a bit if you need to recharge a little.

St Bernadette
A warm and welcoming church. On my visit, I met the wonderful Monsignor Tom. I only gave this review 5 stars, because I cannot give it 6.
