Great place for walks. A lot wildlife can be seen walk through the Dell. Kingfisher are a rare bird but are making a come back here in the Dell. Other birds seen are Dippers, Herons and Buzzards. Great S Woodpeckers can be heard in the Spring time drumming away.

The dell is great for walks, especially with dogs! Be ready to get dirty, not a place for brand new clothes. Wellies or walking boots advised. Head up to Collington and see the old railway tunnel.

Fabulously peaceful- it's just a pity that 2 bridges are still unusable which means circular walks are impossible and loved the murals in the Tunnel

Quaint and foliage-protected dell (i.e. area). An artificial water fall" graces the view for about 140º from a standard point of view. Nonetheless angry in a way that water can only be in its liquid form. Recommended but only sometimes."

Nice to go for a walk and quite sheltered. The path can get very muddy with a lot of puddles during and after the rain, as there is no drainage. Best to go out during the day, there are no lights along the route, except when you get to Colinton Tunnel. It is always noisy with the water rushing by and more so after a heavy rain, it can be almost deafening. So many dog walkers, don't expect a peaceful time on a nice day. The bridge across the water has been closed due to deterioration, but that doesn't stop people crossing it, of course!

Great place to wander, very pretty. Bit of a shame about the repairs currently required for bridges etc.

It's a nice place for a walk but the wooden steps going from craiglockhart to colinton village have been shut of by fencing and the bridge too cross to the dell, Slateford side is also under repair so unable to cross there too. Doesn't say anywhere when these 2 bridges will open too the general public anywhere.
