Rainhill Hall

We were dissppointed overall. No spa as advertised. Room was very small and not worth what we paid. The corridors are like a maze and was confusing getting to and from our room. Perhaps more signs may help ?There were numerous bugs around our window (we hadn't opened it)Shame as location is great

Overall I was quite disappointed with my stay here. I was brought up in Rainhill and knew this place as Loyola Hall so I had some nostalgia linked to staying here nad my High School was next door.The hotel smells old and musty - the aroma reminded me of an Old Persons Living Facility.One of our nights there was a problem with people in the grounds vandalising the place and trying to set fires. The police and their forensics team were there the following afternoon collecting evidence.The grounds are pretty (but not as expansive as you may think). The cooked breakfast was good - the buffet" was VERY limited in selection.The rooms were very small - but looked a lot bigger in the pictures they shared when booking. When I booked too there was an urgency to pay

AVOID THE breakfast with Santa. Dangerous stairs where the kids get food and our little one fell, Lesley queued as if we were at a budget all inclusive for 40 mins for horrible cold food - , horrible tea, this does not work at all - was great last year too so gutted that it’s gone to the dogs. AVOID at all costs unless you enjoy out of control queues, too many people, horrible food and chaos. Wouldn’t have paid £1 for it

I attended the Hall for a charity event. I didn't stay and didn't go into any of rooms other than the room the event was held in, which was very nice and the bar which was nice too. Would be a lovely venue for a wedding could maybe do with a little TLC but had a lovely evening.

Stayed here to attend a party in the local area. The grounds are pretty and there is plenty of seating outside to enjoy a drink on a sunny day.The rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely decorated but could definitely do with some work. The tap in the bathroom leaked onto the floor when used and some of the furniture was visibly worn.Service was great until we ordered some food and didn’t receive it for over 1 hour. We then received half the food and the rest didn’t arrive after another half an hour. After inquiring, it turns out they had only noted down x1 of everything we had ordered instead of x3, so we then had to wait another 20 minutes for them to prepare the rest of the food. Such a shame and was very frustrating. I think they weee training some new staff this day as a young girl told us it was her first day, this could have been part of the issue.The food was nice when we actually received it however ☺️You will have to pay a £50 deposit per room, this stayed on my pending transactions for a few days but was never taken out and was refunded.

We as a couple" loved our 2 day break there. Really quiet and set away from busy roads

We had booked a week stay here . The room that was given to us was a picturesque double bed , if only it was swept from the previous guests . We found rose petals and dust all over the room . We told reception this and he said that it would be sorted . 2 days in the stay we was still waiting to a point I had to do it myself as my kids was running around the room and dust was flying everywhere. They state it's a fine dining experience but without the fine dining service . . . Your treated like they don't want to serve you to a point I ordered 2 Mac and cheese for the kids as room service and wen I checked when it was going to be ready ( third time asking ) got told it's in the pan

We had a lovely time at the spa, the new management were so lovely to us. We got in with quick notice and the treatment was amazing. They were even so nice to invite us back for another massage because the fire alarm went off mid treatment! The women were lovely and made me and my partner feel right at home! Would recommend 10/10

We went to the Bretherton restaurant for my birthday meal.. love the location . Lights lit the driveway . Driving up to the hall at night felt really special. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Food was fantastic. And not over priced.
