A nice place. However it lacks sign posts. We unfortunately cycled to there and it turned that cycles are not allowed on the footpath and dam.

This is a beautiful walk definitely come here again paths are very thin , but have to go single file if there are other people walking ahead , parking shuts at 4pm on weekends as the gates will be locked so head down early worth a visit

Love it when i am the first to review a place. Like the first person to walk on the moon, i feel i have made history. Well the lakes are very nice, occasionally you get a murderous fisherman there that tries to lure innocent little fish to their death, but you don't see them much. If you like ducks you will be jumping for joy. Plenty of ducks to throw your bread at. I just hope the murderous fishermen never get a taste for those poor ducklings and that those ducks never end up on some restaurants menu

Lovely little circuit to go running or walking. There are some offshoot paths leading elsewhere that I've yet to explore and ple ty of picnic and fishing spots to park up at.Beautiful sunsets can be seen all throughout the year with plenty of photogenic sites dotted along the walk. It's also a good spot for bird watchers as the lakes and local fauna attracts all species, especially swans and geese.Beware of huge piles of geese poo on the top half as that stuff sticks to shoes and bike treads like chewing gum ina little girls hair.Bad memories of a brilliant place!Official stance on dogs is NOT ALLOWED.Unofficial stance is clean up after it and keep it under control near the birds and runners or you'll be swimming next.

An oasis of calm, interspersed with marauding ducks. Great place for a short walk on the flat, although some parts of the path get muddy. Picnic tables are available at a couple of locations, as are benches. Look out for the horseshoes on trees along the path!

Such a beautiful place. There are three lakes with trails all the way round. Particularly beautiful in April when all the bluebells are out there is benches nicely placed for perfect view spots. At the far end of the second lake there is a trail that goes into the woods very beautiful with bluebells and a river. Very popular with dog walkers and families fishing is permitted There is a free , large carpark . Highly recommended for a day visit.

The only place you can walk without dog walkers. People aren’t supposed to take dogs here but people seem to ignore the signs.

Great local walk with a car park if needed. We walked here from Haigh Hall along the canal through the woods at the back of Wigan Golf Course off Arley Lane. Nice and peaceful and a few different variants of the same walk to mix it up a little and good wildlife. Unfortunately no café or anything like that for a coffee or snack but worth a trip all the same
