CV Maintenance Solutions

I first came across Carl Vidoretti of CV Maintenance giving his time and expertise free to a DIYSOS Big Build for Children in Need. Carl and his workmate and friend John, who also gave his skills free to the local charity, redefine big hearted. They have come to my aid time and again since for interior and exterior projects, including storm damage and emergencies, and more recently making the home and garden safer for my elderly mum who absolutely adores them. They are excellent and adaptable workmen, who think out of the box to find solutions, and are driven to help by their own moral compass. I know darn well that they don't charge me anything like what their hard work is worth - since I fell (in every sense!) on harder times giving up a steady job and then freelance work to care for my mum, who is now very frail and, I am told, but she may yet confound medics, nearing end of life. Carl and John are very gentle and respectful and caring with her and make sure she is 100% happy with any remedial work or improvements carried out. After a recent fall they put in a path for her, helped her handprint the finished work, and personalised it with her name. My brother, a builder in the south of France, used to call her The Gaffer because as a young widow she did so much diy work herself. Now 87 she sees red at patronising or condescending contractors who try to cut her out of any consultations. Carl and John defer to her. It's the small courtesies on which this world - and repeat business- turns. To my mum, they feel like sons , who see far more of her than her own do. To me they're family, like brothers I can turn to time and again.
