Stonyhill Medical Practice

I’ve had nothing but high rated treatment from each and every Dr, nurse and receptionist at this practice. I find it hard to believe the reviews are genuinely this low and it’s more likely one bad experience has led to a poor review at the time. Can’t rate all of the staff highly enough. Been a patient here many years

After my vist to the medical center yesterday afternoon am pleased to say I am very happy with the service thank you Dr W.

Never see a doctor I had to ask if any still worked they, lots of nurses but not what was asked for. If its a personal problem I don't like to discuss with the very rude receptionist.

I had applied @ 09.40 on 17th of Sept for a copd check. Bare in mind I hadn't had my inhalers due to the the copd test I was having and couldn't walk far.I arrived at 09.30 and spent 10 mins looking for parking, by the time I got to reception I tried to book in on the screen which said I was too late.After another 5 mins waiting for receptionist she said I had to re-book the appt and wasn't very helpful.I asked her to phone the nurse which she reluctantly did to no avail. After 41 yrs of being at the surgery (previously st Mary's surgery) I feel its time to move gp's.Never have I had a problem with this practice before.

Really helpful reception staff, patient and understanding. Never had an issue getting an appointment and received advice treatment when needed.

I am thinking of changing now GP's. The doctors don't know their stuff. I had scans on my foot and knee which turned out to be advanced osteoarthritis but the doctor said to me it is a fracture on my foot and my knee wasn't so bad after I insited to have my scans done. They only referred me to because I said I would go anyway. When the scans came, they couldn't even read them. Fractures in my foot. What a lot of garbage!! I went to Whitegate Drive Medical Centre and saw a specialist who then transferred me to the Spire Hospital with a specialist. And he could not believe what the doctor said to me at Stonyhill. The receptionists are unfriendly and don't want to book you in within a week. I could not get a wound check after my operation. She said I should go to the Walk In centre...mind you I couldn't walk. I didn't go in the end anywhere and phoned the Spire. Did the wound Check over the phone cos Stonyhill is apparently so busy. When I came in last week, there were literally 2 people in the waiting room.but whenever you need an appointment, Nothing!!! This surgery has gone from bad to worse. You never even get to see the doctor anymore because the receptionists are all doctors... they decide if you can come in or not and when!! This is what we pay for. Comes out of our wages, and YOU have to tell them what is wrong with you! Well... I think I can be a doctor as well. Also, I have high blood pressure, and when I asked for medication, they said I didn't need any, but they asked me to check my blood pressure every day as it is Worrying." I don't think I would have had an operation IF I really had that concerning blood pressure. They concentrate on the wrong problems patient have here. Get some educated people in there as it gets annoying speaking to a KNOW IT ALL receptionist."

Oh, how I wish I could turn back the clock and zip back in time! Sadly, that isnt possible. But I would like to go back to how it was. Harrowside Surgery. Absolutely brilliant staff. Sadly, that is NOT the case anymore that they merged with the UNPROFESSIONALS" and "UNCARING" at Stoneyhill. Dr Singh and Dr Charles were both awesome. Even some staff have left the reception for pastures new!! But why do the receptionists all act like they are doctors? When they are not qualified to do that? The friendliness has sadly gone from this reception and its staff. They're all just like Little Hitlers!!!! And they are not allowed to be friendly with their patients on a personal note. It's so tragic the way this surgery has declined. Maybe a new management team is required cos the present one is not fit for purpose. End of Rant!!"

Absolute rubbish doctors takes over a month to get a routine appointment. My daughter who is 9 months old refused an appointment with a doctor for an emergency.another occasion My daughter had a temp of 39c and parts of her body where hot and red. Made to wait over an hour to see a doctor (the waiting room was empty but 1 or 2 ppl) then we got sent to hospital!We moved to this doctors because they used to be good and u got appointments quickly. Now they are unreliable and it can sometimes take 30mins on hold to speak to someone.

Great practice with great doctors and nurses. Always get the best care and fit us in as soon as possible. Cant fault the service and great aftercare too

Yvonne and Denise are amazing, it's near impossible to get through on the phone and the receptionist could do with having a better attitude, I've never understood people who work in the customer eye if they clearly don't like people and make it very apparent! I stood waiting to book myself in yesterday on the first floor while I was ignored for a good ten minutes while the receptionist was having a giggle away with the red haired Australian that works their.
