Couldn't fault this hotel. Had a short golfing break and all the staff were courteous kind and very very helpful. And the owner very kindly gave us the hotel history. A wee gem of a place.

We had a wonderful stay at Craigard. The rooms were very comfortable. Their restaurant makes amazing food. What stood out most was the service. The ladies running the front desk were very friendly and helpful.

Extremely potent solvent smell in bedroom on arrival - so strong that we had to open window and leave the room for 2 hours (just about bearable when we came back, although kitchen smells had then then permeated the room). The room we booked was described as a garden view (room 9) - in effect the window view is a concrete yard (you can only get a glimpse of the small patch of grass and some pot plants if you look at 90 degrees to the window). We booked dinner, bed and breakfast - dinner for 2 is sold as an additional £60, but in reality food is charged at the menu price (so no advantage to pre-booking). Based on all the above, the £122 per night B&B represents very poor value for money, compared with other local offerings. Rooms at the front of the hotel have a lovely view of the loch, as does the dining room. Dining room service is slow; for example we were told there would be a 20-25 minute wait for desert, but our order was not taken for 25 minutes, and did not arrive for another 10 minutes. On the plus side, the food in the restaurant was excellent, including the vegetarian option that was not on the menu. Rooms are well appointed, but one long life milk was dated 18/12/21. Final straw was at checkout: member of waiting staff did the checkout and asked if we had enjoyed our stay: I explained the above, and she politely listened and said that she would complete a complaint form on our behalf - all this while the manager/owner was sat 2m away in his office with an open door; instead of taking some responsibility he stood up and walked off (sorry but I have therefore reduced my 3* to 1*). Disgraceful way to treat his own staff.

Great location. A short walk into Campbeltown. Room huge (family room). Good value for money for such a big room. Breakfast excellent. Only had dinner there on one night. Service was slow. Not enough staff perhaps? What food we did have though was very good.

Craigard is one of the best hotels in Campbeltown, with luxurious rooms and best services. The architecture of the building fascinated me which reminds of luxury ships. The only factor I felt difficult was the easy accessibility to the town. Overall it was a wonderful experience there.

Went at the start of the month to have a mummy and kids night out, well needed, so we chose this lovely restaurant (it’s also a hotel and if rumour is true then they have lovely rooms)! It’s a little out the way but the walk down is absolutely lovely, even if it is raining and the views are great, both from the hotel and the walk. The service was good and Geraldine and Lauren were fantastic with the kids and very understanding to their needs. Was very grateful that they had patience as dining with four kids under three and one at seven isn’t easy. The food wasn’t a 10/10 but definitely lovely, i personally think I just made the wrong choice for my main. Or maybe it was the gin I had with it. The kids loved theirs though and that’s the main thing. In terms of options, there is loads to choose from, different types of menus and definitely something for everyone. My friend would definitely recommend the broccoli soup and stake and ale pie.The decor was beautiful and definitely made for conversation, however a little on the dim side.Lost a star as they only had two highchairs available meaning we had to bring our own.Over all we will definitely be back in a couple of months.
