About the Business

Picture House Cinema Keighley | Movies | Latest Films | Book Online | Cinema in Keighley | Keighley Picture House is a cinema located in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1913 as a receiving house theatre which also showed films with a large auditorium containing stalls and balcony seating. In the years to come it was used for live shows and pop concerts as well as regular film screenings. Sometime after the Second World War ended the Balcony was extended making the total number of seats close to 1000, the second biggest auditorium in Keighley after the Hipperdrome/Queens Theatre. In or around 1955 the independent locally owned cinema was purchased by Essoldo cinemas and folded into their chain, losing its "Picture House" moniker in the process and becoming "Keighley Essoldo".

Went to see Strays here for an evening and loved it! We are the only audience members but what an amazing location! So unique & rare to what’s available nowadays. We loved the retro, old-style touches and aesthetic & would definitely come here often if we lived in the area! A great experience

We went to see the Barbie movie here with a full cinema and an incredible atmosphere! It's very classic and that definitely added to the experience! The staff are so lovely and patient, couldn't have asked for better service! And importantly the snacks (popcorn, drinks and more) are easily the most affordable I've seen at the cinema for many years!! Support this cinema as much as you can they deserve it!If I could recommend anything I would say they should try the indie cinema scene more as indie cinema fans have to travel all the way to Bradford centre and this cinema would create a great pull for that!I will definitely be coming back!

Been going into the Picture house since the 1970s, first movie I ever watched was. The life and times of Grizzly Adams, my Aunt and uncle ran the place in the early 80s so I basically hung out everyday I wasn't at school, love Keighley Picture house it holds so many memories for me, I'm 54 now and just recently came to see The little mermaid, happy to say nothing much has changed since I was a child running about at the Saturday kids club after paying my 35p entrance, I hope we never lose the Picture house it's always been a huge part of Keighley history and has a special place in my heart.
