Castle Dry Cleaners

I've been coming to Castle Cleaners for many years now and often for quite complex jobs. I've not had one issue with them over the years and I must say, of all things, the customer service I have received has been second to none.Highly recommended.

DO NOT TOUCH THIS SHOP. We put an expensive jacket to be dry cleaned for first time and when we got it back, it was totally damaged. There were marks all over the jacket, a lot of colour variations everywhere especially on the sleeves, the colour was much lighter than before. We took the jacket back and were told this is a cotton jacket and the colour would change. This was not what we were told when we originally put the jacket in for cleaning. Had the lady informed us that the jacket would change in colour, we would have refrained from using this service. The lady said I can try again but it will go even lighter - not what we wanted. She said you can complain to the jacket manufacturer or come back at the weekend and speak to Mr Spooner the owner. We asked for a phone number and email address to take this matter further given that we are very busy people. We did not get this and have not had a chance to get back to the shop to speak with Mr Spooner yet so have attached our photos in the meantime.

Got 2 jackets dry cleaned rang to say wasn’t happy with the service as one jacket looked like it had not been touched lady on the phone said we cannot guarantee the marks to come off .. the problem was the jacket didn’t look pressed are cleaned .. attitude was terrible and told to take back which I will do u and should have said when I took the jacket that there was no guarantee but to be fare the jacket isn’t really dirty took to dry cleaners because it states dry clean only

The guy asked initially for £50 to clean the blanket, then after negotiating he said £35. It took them about 2 weeks until he messaged me to collect it. The blanket smelled really bad. Returned to them again, took them another 2 weeks until a lady called me to collect, and guys what!? Still smells very bad. The result I throw the blanket out of home, so no blanket and £35 extra losses.

I had a thigh length coat that needed a new zip. When I entered the shop the assistant screwed her face up as soon as she saw my coat. I asked her how much it would be for a replacement zip to be fitted and she replied very sharpley with 'It won't be a metal zip', I said 'that was fine only for her to huff again to tell me it would cost £16.50. I expressed that it was expensive and she replied 'Thats what it is take it or leave it' no sooner had I said I could do it cheaper (even though I know it would take a novice like me ages to do) she stormed away from the counter...not very good customer service and certianly not friendly!!So the next time I needed anything done I took to Star Stitch a couple of doors away and can honestly say from the friendly customer service to the excellent work I was very impressed and will be using them from now on.

This is not the place you want to take your clothes to. I was very disappointed. They washed my white shirts twice. Both times they said they were fine. Both times the stains were still there. Very unprofessional.

Really disappointed in the service I received.Took an overcoat and 3 nearly new suit jackets in to be dry cleaned this week. The jackets had only been worn once each.When collected them all 4 items were crammed into one bag creased not pressed and looked like they had a white discolored sheen on them ....like worn out.They look alot worse than when I took them in and I was getting them cleaned for an event in London which they are now totally unsuitable for.As I said really disappointed and I definitely would not recommend Castle cleaners if you value your clothes.

I don't recommend this business to others looking for a quality dry-cleaning service.I took a medium suitcase of clothing to be washed, dried and folded because I was staying in a hotel (whilst my landlord was carrying out repairs to my flat). I was told they would be ready by Tuesday lunch-time. To their credit, the clothes were packed back in the suitcase on Tuesday lunch-time ready for me to collect, so I'll give 2 stars.However, they charged me an extortionate £43.00 (for what should really have been two loads, but they claimed was three) and my folded" clothes were completely damp and smelled of mildew. They had clearly very partially dried my clothing

Although my coat was damaged a bit little and one staff is not friendly, manager Steve help me solve and repair it, he is very nice, now my coat looks like new without any problem, so I still recommend this shop.

Excellent customer service and an ideal place in town for parcel collection
