Really well stocked shop, friendly and very helpful staff. Great selection of top quality kit. Not cheap,but probably the best. Well worth travelling to get what you need. Highly recommended

Had a very long fitting session with Robin for ski and hiking boots. What an amazing place and service! So knowledgeable and able to adjust for my needs. Plenty of recommendations without ever being sold" to. Even when browsing the clothing was getting advice and service well beyond a high street outdoors shop.Can tell why they have doing this 40 years and hope it'll be many more!"

Excellent place for a large range of walking boots and shoes. Some of them are even foot shaped! The shoe fitters are knowledgeable about feet and their range of footwear. Tell them what type of walking you do, give them a price range and let them measure your feet. It won't be cheap. Great advice and good footwear never are!

I was so impressed with our visit to Lockwoods, the staff were so friendly and welcomed us into the store and held the door open for me. I had 3 pairs of skis to service and some problems with my ski boots that were previously fitted badly last year by another company. The ski service really was of a great standard, I couldn’t believe how well one set of skis turned out considering the state they arrived in! These were all completed within 40 minutes whilst getting my boots sorted. Unfortunately I didn’t catch the guys name servicing the skis but special mention to him. Also to James who sorted me with custom moulded ski boot insoles, awesomeService, knowledge and patience on a very busy Saturday! We will be back each year and will recommend to anyone!

Lockwoods Ski & Outdoor are truly a 5 star company with 5 star employees selling and advising on 5 star products. If you want expert advice on outdoor equipment this is the place to go. Having been to all the ‘other’ high profile outdoor shops and discussing my needs for a new rucksack with clearly inexperienced shop staff I bit the bullet and did the 4hr round trip journey to Lockwoods. It was worth it. I am now the proud owner of a very well fitting new rucksack. A special mention to Russell who spent an hour getting me kitted out with a rucksack that fitted my torso. Thank you Lockwoods.

Needed some good supportive walking boots, as recommended by my Podiatrist, Mark Gallagher, to help with ongoing pain from tendonitis in my right foot, and I was very impressed by the personal & expert service I received last Friday when I came with my wife (who is in a wheelchair). Not sure who served me, but he measured my feet (not been done for many years!) and found an excellent, very comfortable pair of boots for me and they have been wonderful so far, albeit VERY expensive - but worth every penny if they help solve my foot problem. So thanks very much indeed.Also, a very kind lady helped my wife use the disabled toilet while we were there, which was an added bonus!
