Came 50 miles out of town to buy a pair of sovereign earrings, just short of £600 for my mother who as dementia, got them home an she loved them couldn’t wait to wear them so I put them in for her , a few days later she rang upset to say the earings had both broken, the clasps had broken , I said don’t worry I’ll take them back an get them to have look , it’s was just short of 3 weeks before I could go back because of work commitments, once at the shop a lovely chap said he would ring the management an see wat thay could do ! Five minutes later I got a call back , sorry but there is nothing we can do , thay left the shop in perfect condition so it’s something you have done ! We will not be able to buy them back but we will mend them but at an EXTRA COST TO YOURSELF!! Discussed with the after care , it was like “ I’ve taken £600 off you and now hallmark jewellers want nothing more to do with you “ ,, from a very disappointed un returning customer

If I could post worse than 1 star I would. Poor service from the start. Handed in my watch to have a simple battery change. Got told to come back 10 minutes later. I went back around 20 minutes later and my watch had no hands on it. I was told that I handed it in like this, I however know that this wasn’t the case. Who’s hands just fall off their watch? They then suggested that I had to go to return it to the manufacturer to be repaired. All of this, just so they didn’t have to admit they can’t fix a simple trainee level mistake. I called another local jeweller, he repaired the hands and replaced the battery in less than 5 minutes free of charge. I went back into the shop to inform Hallmark the watch had been fixed and I was not happy with their service. Then proceeded to be intimidated in front of other shop users from the rude female shop assistant behind the counter shouting at me loudly with absolutely no customer service skills. Would not recommend to use them. (This is my sons account as I never leave reviews, but this time I felt the need to).

Fantastic level of service, along with excellent advice, all with a friendly smile from John as well.Repairs and alterations done at more than a reasonable price, to a very high standard, & promptly.

My wife had 3 rings enlarged, one of which was treebark patterned. They did a lovely job with no obvious repair marks. The staff were very nice and did and excellent job on the sizing. I'll definitely use them again and would recommend them to others

Refused to fix a ring in warranty claiming it was whoever has been wearing its fault yet the ring broke when we first bought it and they fixed it no problem they do terrible work would never use them again and I cant recommend anyone to go there

Had a battery changed for my watch. Friendly staff, fantastic service and great price. I'll definitely go back again!

My wife and I were up from Cambridge last weekend, visiting an elderly uncle and my mother-in-law in Birkdale and Crosby respectively. The latter mentioned that her watch strap was too large and that she had to keep pushing her watch up her arm. We popped across to Formby in the hope that we could find someone who could remove a few of the metal links. The town was busy and there was nowhere to park near the Jewellers, so I dropped my wife off outside the shop and drove off on a circuit whilst she checked whether Hallmark could do the job. A few minutes later she came out of the shop with one of the guys, so we pulled over to enable him to measure the size of my mother-in-law’s wrist. Once that was done he and my wife disappeared off into the shop and we resumed our circuits. Having removed a number of links, the assistant emerged again. We stopped outside the shop and he handed over the watch for it to be tried on again. A little too tight: a link needed to be put back on. Five minutes later my wife emerged with the watch, now a perfect fit, having paid a bill of under £8. An outstanding service from a really great pair of guys. I thoroughly recommend this place.

Excellent jewellers. Made alterations for me that the previous jewellers said were not possible and did a fantastic job for a fantastic price. Only criticism is they dont keep you updated as you go along like if there is any delays etc but maybe that's just because it was a busy period. Saying that they made alterations for me the same day twice now which was super fast and amazing service.I would highly recommend this jewellers they seem so trustworthy and have a great team of lovely staff, just so happy to deal with you
