Hertz Car Hire

Total fraud, they handed over the key and they asked to make the picture of the car for any damage, on my return after 24 hour they invoiced me 217 plus admin fee for damage on alloy wheel which I provided a picture shows pre existing scratch. I covered by third party for any damages but I will not use my cover in this instant and will take this matter forward to making sure this companies can not cheating so simple from people card details .

Did a walk-in. The guy at the counter was super friendly and the price was reasonable for a non-advance booking. After few days I just dropped the keys in the mailbox in the evening. My deposit was returned after a week, as told. The price was charged as told, no hidden fees afterwards. Will use Hertz again.

Despite being a gold member, car has twice not been immediately available on arrival at Aberdeen. This time a 45min wait. The car was dirty to boot. Finally Hertz rep explained car has to be returned after only 48hrs as it was “old”... in fact it has 9000miles. Vehicle was replaced by 28,000mile, beater with scratches, noisy engine that needed oil change, inoperable fuel filler door and tire pressures that were 10psi over manufacturer recommendations. There was also no damage report supplied for replacement vehicle, so I took lots of photos. On returning vehicle, Hertz Aberdeen claimed additional damage (which I have disputed, with photo evidence). NOT the level of service I expect or usually get at Hertz.

Lady at desk was most helpful , didn’t catch her name but reg we had was DN21UHJ . Explained everything to us , the one query I had was in relation to the damage on car (marked as slight/scratch) but was a dent needing a body shop. The lady said as the mark was clearly seen in picture shown it would be ok. My cc deposit should be returned overnight and all will be good . Can’t fault the service given to me by lady on duty though.

Absolute fraud. I filled up the car from the petrol station outside the airport, yet they charged me for fuel fee claiming that they had to fule the car. Luckily, I took pictures that prove otherwise on their parking lot.

Picking up the car was fine, no issues. When trying to return the sign in the lot said to go to the office. Did not see a key dropoff box. Went to the office, no one there but a personal number was on the desk. Asked an employee at a different car rental agency what to do and he said call the number. I called and someone, without identifying themselves as being from Hertz, just keeps saying over and over in a clearly angry voice that I'm late to pick up the car and I was meant to get it that morning. It took them a while to understand I was dropping off a car and just wanted to know where to return the keys, they kept arguing with me thinking I was a different customer (and I feel sorry for that customer). Was not a pleasant experience, did not receive an apology.

Even rented through a well known company which considered to be a big customer to Hertz, they still repeat the same scam and same fraud not sure but trying to make money out of that? I returned the car with zero search and no damage, the guy in recipient confirmed that hertz will return the deposit within 5 to 10 working days to my corporate card and they will only charge me the rental for 2 days with no extra fees, 2 days later I found additional cost above £200 extra for damage & admin . That's totally wast of time , money and everything to even think to rent from Hertz again, and I'm writing to the top level of my organization to stop dealing with such a fraud.
