William's Hillsborough Apartments

What an awful experience I would not recommend it to anyone. Hard to summarise my experience as it was nothing but awful and unfortunately my issue is yet not resolved. My husband and I were due to stay at this place for 1 night. We booked is well in advance and as requested by the property at the time of confirming the reservation we had to make a £150 deposit that would be refunded within 24h (if made via bank transfer) at the time of check out.3 days before our trip, the property cancelled the reservation without any explanation and they have confirmed that payment would not be taken for the 1 night stay. No mention about our deposit though, and that's when the issue started. I have messaged them back with a copy of my bank statement showing payment going out and asking for a prompt refund. They have asked me in return to contact Booking.com about this - very strange as the payment was made straight to the property. I have contacted Booking.com as instructed, who in return contacted the property (duh!) but surprise - They claimed that no deposit payment has been made. I have then shared the bank statement with booking.com and my issue is since then ongoing and not yet resolved. I have later on been told by booking.com that refund would be processed within 14 days - but then again the message from the property at the time of requesting the deposit stated : 24h refund time IF paid via bank transfer.On top of this, on the day of the supposed check in (which again was cancelled) I received a message from Booking.com asking me if I will be check in as the property marked it as a no show. Needless to explain the frustration of the whole experience, and what was meant to be a day break has now transformed in a terrible experience. This is nothing but steeling from customers, awful place. AVOID.AVOID.AVOID

Stayed here overnight after attending my brother's 70th birthday , good value.Opposite Rawson springs pub, great for breakfast.

Excellent location for access to trams, taxi, public transport. Great staff and apartment, clean, comfortable, modern, lovely shower. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Had no parking issues with permit. Visiting from Canada to family so very easy to travel from here to different locations around the area. Some noise from trams but if you want convenience for shopping, eating out, take away, bars, etc this place is great. Trams stop at midnight. Used earplugs for sleeping and had no issues at all. Thanks to all staff for making our trip so easy. We will definitely be back.

Cheap and ideally located for town (tram stop is just outside). Can be quite noisy due to tram and traffic but not terribly so. Parking a bit of a hassle but the local park and ride is one stop (on blue teams) and about 3 minutes walk away.

Was some minor noise from other residents but that is to be expected anywhere. Staff was very responsive to messages left before stay and was able to work my situation quite well with no issues at all. Only made one call to try to figure out on how to use the washer/dryer combo as was not use to that setup and that got handled wonderfully by the staff on the phone. Would I recommend this place, yes as its feet away from a tram and short walk to a grocery store as well as bus station. Perfect location for those who are from a country where driving is backwards to have easy access to public transport as well as taxi.

Great room size, clean and good location. Close proximity to travel links, will use again for sure.

Lovely accommodation, well recommended. Tram stops right outside, so no need to worry about city centre parking.

Location is great. Decor inside is homely and clean. However it could do with coat hooks. One of the bedside lamps was out. Thete was no battery in the clock. When we arrived it was cold as the heating was off and a window left open. Also there was only 3 tea bags. And lastly not enough toilet roll. Besides that a very comfortable place to stay.

Super helpful staff when a lock broke. Lovely place. Just tricky parking. Fine if you use the tram though:)

Good value of money. Nice service. Rooms are fine. Good location, although a bit tricky. Still recommended.
