Great variety of meals on the chalkboard - had a tough time choosing. Weekday night and it was crowded- one table left. One of those classic pubs where the kitchen is up stairs behind the bar.Pretty good - just not a 5.

Best roast I've ever had! Had the pulled pork shoulder, so tasty!! Also a really nice looking place, good service and calm interior. Recommend booking a table on Sundays

What has happened? This is now a sports pub serving average Sunday roast. Friendly welcoming staff, but completely different atmosphere and very limited menu. I assume ownership has changed hands.

We have been here because of a recommendation by a man who send us the right way to our B&B on Centurion Road.We asked for roasted lamb and beef. It was really good with a lot of vegetables. We enjoyed our dinner.

The roast was okay. However the best in Brighton? No not close. The veg needs more flavour for example add a little mint to the peas or honey to the carrots. The potatoes really wasn't crispy. I was satisfied and full but I can cook better at home, I pay to eat food that I cannot cook at home.

This is a lovely little pub a stone's throw from the train station. I just stayed for a few drinks but there is a good back bar and the staff are really friendly.The range of dishes on the menu has something from everyone and from the plates I could see coming from the kitchen I'll definitely be back soon to try the food.

As the sign says come hungry as the food is great value for money .Daily special offers too . Service was friendly and efficient .Food was served hot , large portions and very reasonably priced

Lovely backstreet local pub serving excellent fresh food made from local produce. The decor is rustic but well maintained. The staff are knowledgable and helpful and quick with the service. The selection of drinks on and behind the bar is good. If you want to eat, I would book ahead as it is not the largest of places and I can imagine on an evening especially it will get busy quickly. I would wholly recommend this place for food and drink. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area. Infinitely better than the chain eateries. Accepts cards and cash.
