Been using car park for many years, nice views and food outlets nearby, also good place to start bike rides either along sea front or up the riverside as far as Alexander Bridge.

Here is an absolutely great, inexpensive car park which is ideally located not only for the harbour (as one would expect from its name!) but also for Roker Beach, Pier and the Lighthouse. It appears to be much favoured too by sea anglers and those who wish to stay with their cars and enjoy some fabulous views.

Fantastic place to go lovely beaches and harbour wall walk 2 very good fish and chip shops and very clean toilets good parking but spaces are often very tight

when you look on the net (google) it says 24 hour parking but Sunderland council seems to take great pleasure in locking your car in at 10pm bang on.The council have a very bad reputation of treating visitors to the area as a potential target, even the locals will tell you so one told me they practically hide behind other vehicles in Gillie suits like snipers waiting for an opportunity.Gave one star because I had to so I could post this

After attending the tall ships event that ends at 10pm we got back to the car park for 10:06 and the council shut the car park locking my car in. The only sign warning you if this is on the way out of the car park so be careful. If you find yourself locked in, mount the curb onto the promenade and drive along north until you see some benches, drive through the middle of them and onto the road. Apparently this happens often.Don’t bother calling the out of hours team... typical underpaid useless council workers.

Great view to sit and eat your chips. Or watch the people wander by... Big speed bumps to keep the boy racers at bay. Make sure you pay for a ticket, the traffic warden bloke is appears out of nowhere... there are plenty of spaces, but it gets busy when it's sunny and warm.
