As locals we booked a table to support a local business. But it was a waste of time. We booked a table and were seated on time. It was 20mins before our order was taken and we left 45 mins later with no further interaction with the staff. We explained we were unhappy and were leaving. It was disappointing that restaurant staff offered no apology. It should be noted that bar staff, under different management, were very good throughout. We won't be going back.

I am not a icence of a public house myself and if a pub was run like this I would be annoyed.I know by 9.30 children have to be out of a pub.. We have been recommended this pub as staying up the road and it's a shame as because they would get lots of trade from this. Kids running a pub and their friends running a mockMusic been played way too loud. Never again.It's a shame as its a lovley pub we would have spent more but just very loud people. Sort this out or will become another staticPlus the menu way too expensive 2 pounds for a bread cake and 3 pounds for gravy??

Please do not be fooled by any negative reviews- I was sceptical at first because of them too. However, I had to bare in mind we only tend to write reviews when feeling disgruntled- I was proved wrong by The Star Inn! So here I am with a good review! Really lovely pub, friendly staff- really helpful and attentive, very clean and well kept inside, great value for money, home cooked food. We ordered two meals and a side and sat in the beer garden- could not fault the food at all! Piping hot, tasted amazing, lots of verity/options. You could tell it was freshly made to order. The staff we spoke to- a really kind man and lovely waitress- Rosie perhaps? made us feel very welcome and checked on us a few times incase there was anything else we needed. After our visit yesterday we will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely evening!

We have recently been to The Star and had a couple of meals.I really enjoyed the pie'sThey are really tasty and filling with a great portion.The staff are friendly and helpfulGreat atmosphere in the InnAlso I've taken my staff for a drink and it's nice to find somewhere you can just relax.Plenty of seating inside and out with a play area for the little ones.Easily located just out of Wakefield on the Batley rdGood sized car parkDefinitely worth a tryIt is a good place to walk to as there are plenty of countryside walks locally

A lovely little pub. They’ve just opened an Indian restaurant called Star Balti and the food was fantastic. The owner came out to chat with us to make sure we were happy and the staff were all lovely. Would highly recommend.

Great atmosphere and service, lovely food, and a really good play area. We have eaten here quite a few times now, and the food is always really good and big portions. You get loads for what you pay. Everyone who works there is very friendly and welcoming. The play area and outdoor seating are also really good. This particular time, they had a bouncy castle, which was free, so that was a great extra. The rest of the time they have a big climbing frame, swings, slides, 2 sit on tractors, lots of ride on toys and plenty of seating.

Strangely quiet for the Christmas period. Seven of us visited for lunch and I have to say, the pie was very nice indeed. The one guy that was working the bar and tables was pleasant and service was swift. Would have got five stars, but it is quite expensive. I would definitely eat here again though.

Went for a meal and ordered two beef and onion sandwiches. The beef tasted and smelt off. The meat looked a grey colour. Informed the waitress and was offered another meal, which we declined. Both meals were left fully. We left and was still charged full price. Personally think the customer service when it comes to poor meals which weren’t eaten and being charged full price is pretty ridiculous. Had one bite and the taste still hasn’t left my mouth. Would never go back.

Fantastic staff ,gorgeous food ,reasonable price and lovely setting.Beer garden amazing just a pity it wasn't good weather when we visited .Wheel chair friendly if your passing you'd be a fool not to call in!!!!!
