Carter Glass - Double Glazing Southend on Sea

Caused burn damage to our conservatory carpet during the replacement of our conservatory roof. Unfortunately they refused to accept responsibility for this damage and will not reply to my emails. Very disappointing after sales service. I will be taking this up with the consumer protection association.Update: 08/06/21The description of the work carried out by your company that you have provided here is not accurate.The removal of the existing roof was undertaken by your install team using power hacksaws as they needed to cut through the heavy duty bolts and screws which fixed the roof together, the wooden beams which were fixed to the back plate by heavy duty bolts required a considerable amount of cutting with these power tools. This would definitely have created enough heat to these tools to create the burns we have been left with on our carpet.The installation of the new roof was not the seamless install of a prefabricated roof as you describe. The installers could not get some parts of the roof to install correctly and undertook cutting of the aluminium front and back plates with power hacksaws to make it fit, they later informed me this was because they had not installed it correctly in the first instance due to misinterpretation of the install instructions. This cutting would definitely have created enough heat to these tools to create the burns we have been left with on our carpet.The install team did fit protective sheets some of the time, but they did not always cover the entire floor and they did not use them when they were installing the new roof, only for removal of the old roof.Please do not come back to me with a statement that it would not be possible for this damage to happen during the replacement of our roof as it did happen.If you cannot accept responsibility for the damage I will pursue my complaint through the Consumer Protection Association (CPA), as described in my emails to you.You have not worked hard to resolve this issue as you state in your reply. You have just denied responsibility.Regards

After having our windows replaced by Carter Glass we had the boys back to replace our conservatory roof and we were not disappointed. Bruce your customer service and attention to detail is brilliant and Dean and Pete you are an absolute pleasure to be around and your work is first class. Definitely would recommend to anyone x

Great service. The installation of new bay windows was completed with minimal disruption. The 2 fitters worked very tidy and cleaned up after they were finished they very polite and friendly. Overall very satisfied with the new windows and would definitely use again.

They fitted a front door for me in 2016 and one of the pieces of glass is misted. I have contacted them numerous times to get this repaired since 30.3 and as yet have not received any after sales service. All I get is the run around. I would give them 0 but this score is unavailable.

We had 2 sets of balcony doors and window installed in early Feb and the installation team were very clean and friendly. Unfortunately, I had to contact Carter Glass on the 15th Feb to report drafts and wind whistling through the units . I have since been chasing them and sent numerous emails with photos and called for updates only to be told I would be called back. I have another 15 windows that I want replacing but due to the terrible after care I will now be looking for another company to resolve the current issues and replace the other windows.

I ordered some windows for the back of my house in April 2022 and I absolutely love them. The whole experience from start to finish was brilliant and the staff all very professional. David, our sales contact, was very friendly and helpful. He clearly knows his windows too, I felt like I was in safe hands.We even lucked out and got an earlier slot for the installation. The fitters were again great. Some of the windows were not the simplest but they did a great job.

To everybody at carter glass we would like to say a huge thank you for fitting our new windows doors and porch. The attention to detail and finish is fantastic. Your fitters Dean and Pete were just the best they are a credit to the company. So once again thank you Bruce and the wonderful team we are absolutely delighted with the finished product. We would have no hesitation in recommending your company to anybody.
