My wife's Edwardian mantle clock has been gaining time for years. Mr Lightfoot gave excellent guidance, suggested a viable way forward to keep the clock in service, then did the work exactly as he had described.First rate from Summersons. The clock has no value other than sentimental, but it's lovely to see it back above the fireplace keeping the correct time once more.

Excellent. Took my antique carriage clock in there because it was losing time.The chap showed me how to adjust it myself when he could easily have had it in and charged me for servicing.Thoroughly recommend.

Curate's egg. I won't be using him again. He cleaned my Vienna regulator which is much more family heirloom than valuable antique but it is a good functional clock which has been a part of my life for ever, and I'm very familiar with it. It's unusual in not being in its original case - my father made a new case as the original was decrepit. Summersons - a one man business - did a good job of cleaning it and it does now go well. BUT: he gave it back to me with a piece missing (one of the knurled nuts from the beat adjuster) and it had too little cord on the going weight so it stopped after about 6.5 days, well before the weight reached the floor of the case.Mr S was very put out at me pointing out his errors, and even tried to suggest that the present case is longer than the original... Yes obviously the original case was shorter than the pendulum. He also grumbled because the case has no hanging loop and the door is hinged on the 'wrong' side.The encounter left me with a feeling quite upset and I wish I had taken my clock elsewhere. However it does now go well, so you may have a better experience.
