Thank you Westray Vets for your professional service and compassion on sending our 19 year old loving cat over the Rainbow Bridge. The card and paw prints were a loving touch which we will treasure forever. It was lovely to seeing her calm and comfortable as we said our goodbyes. Thank you again.

I attended westway at tynemouth as my usual vetinary practice Vets for pets would not allow me to be anywhere near my dog Layla when she was put to sleep , something I found totally unacceptable. After they were recommended to me I contacted WESTWAY and I found Vetinary nurse Lesley and vet Sudhana at WESTWAY tynemouth to be both extremely professional , and went above and beyond to give us enough time and space to say goodbye. They totally empathised and understood the need for owners to be with their animal at such a distressing time . Our beautiful Layla was treat as if she were their own and was put to sleep peacefully. I had spoken to Lesley a few times on the phone to arrange this distressing appointment and on the day she knew exactly who we were , and as if she had met us several times before , a personal , compassionate manner from someone who is clearly an animal lover I will definitely be using this vets again !!

I have been visiting the Tynemouth branch for years and have never had any problems. The reception staff are always incredibly friendly, know me on a first name basis and my dogs are always happy to see them. The staff have always accommodated one of my anxious dogs (coming outside and collecting me from the car when the vet is ready to see her). I would highly recommend.

We had to get our dog put to sleep , very sad but we tried so many vets before we found this one and could not believe the price difference here from the others . They saved is about 300 quid or more , much cheaper than any other vets and I know it's not all about the money but in these circumstances things are a little hard. It was beautiful and the staff where so lovely beautiful vets and the service after is beutiful, we got hair clippings , paw prints and a it was in the most beautiful box I've seen just so lovely and a beautiful service , we couldn't thankyous enough x

The receptionists are nice and friendly but they don't answer the phone, but they are nice people. The Vet (Tynemouth) has no social skills, she is basically rude and talks to you like you're a child if you do or you don't know anything. I've been there 3 times and she never fails to do this. I been told off for not knowing the vets policy without it being communicated. I didn't know that they have their own covid rules to the rest of the UK. I was shouted at that I couldn't put a puppy on the floor despite that he jumped down for a second and was picked up straight away. My second visit I was afraid to speak (I dislike being shouted at). On my third visit I was offered the sage advice to not let my pet chew personal belongings? I've been told I was wrong when my pet has been teething for awhile? Apologies as an owner, losing a tooth and chewing is all I have to go on?My 4th attempt at a visit was to have a rabies and EHC to go on holiday with my dog. I called once to book the appointment and called to confirm the appointment. They didn't book the the EHC and left the appointment in for the rabies even after I phoned back to cancel as one appointment is no good without the other? I now can't get another appointment in time for the dog to go abroad with me. My family are now going on holiday and I am staying at home with the dog.Avoid Avoid Avoid. I've taken the advice of the lovely dog walkers of Tynemouth to go to a recommended practice.

We had to have our dog helped on his way to Rainbow Bridge, we had never experienced this with a pet before, the service we got could not be faulted. Anna the vet was superb and looked after Spok and ourselves the kindness and companion she showed was what gave us strength

I won't be going back here at the North shields they never have the meds in so what's the point of going to the vets when you cannot get the meds very poor and not professional.

I see you have taken off my review perhaps because you do not want me to make future client's aware of the barbaric service given to me when sending my 19 old cat to Rainbow Bridge. Well here is my experience of your practice. Due to COVID I was not allowed to stay with her all the time was allowed to be with her when she was put to sleep. I had taken written a letter for the vet to read explaining how she was a very nervous cat and extremely clingy" to me. The took her into the examination room and brought her out in her basket I was elated I thought no they are not going to put her down we are going home together I was then informed yes they were going to her to sleep - why stress her out and let her see me only to be taken back into the examination room. I waited for nearly half an hour and was concerned about the length of time they were spending with her

Very disappointed, I have taken my elderly dog here for the last 5 years and have been quite pleased with the treatment but I don’t know what has happened to the place recently, you never see the same vet twice as they all seem to leave after a month which is really frustrating as they start a treatment and promise you can just ring up to get a repeat of the medication, to be told you can’t and they now need to see my elderly dog which gets very stressed at the vets.I personally think they don’t really care about the animals just about the money. I certainly won’t be going back again.

Easier to get through to the HMRC or the Queen than these. Literally have to ring 37 times before anyone answers.
