Tŷ Llandaff Care Home

We enjoyed an amazing day celebrating the coronation with my Nan at Ty Llandaff. The entertainment was just lovely, the buffet was delicious, the home decorated tastefully and my Nan and her friends enjoyed singing along and a glass of bubbly to mark the occasion. The staff work so hard to make every day the best day.

My grandad was a resident at Ty Llandaff Care Home for 3 years, with the first 6 months of care being fantastic. The staff really looked after him and would know very early on if he was becoming unwell (he was prone to aspiration). For the last 2.5 years, the staff turnover was extremely high with a lot of agency use - this would mean they did not know my grandad and his triggers for illness, also not following care plans which put my grandad in a dangerously unwell state more than a handful of times. This was raised with management (@Ty Llandaff & Care Concern Group) many many times (each time after a new management team had been recruited), but it seemed (and no doubt is still the case) that they just do not care to care, they are here to make money and that is it. Yes, the facilities are nice, the building is modern and the rooms are too, with the use of a cinema etc, but all of that means nothing if residents with more complex levels of care are stuck in their rooms. Myself/Sister were frequent visitors and our hearts would break seeing him in the state he was left in at times. The quality and standard of care fell well below the bare minimum for any vulnerable elderly adult, let alone for our loved one.

I have worked at Ty Llandaff for 2 years and it is honestly the best place I have worked. The management are very approachable and the staff are friendly and always helpful. Each department is happy to help each other. Its a pleasure to come into work each day.

It used to be a really good care home but it has gone down hill massively my dad is currently a resident in there and we cannot wait to get him out he needs care all the time and it just isn't there for him

Ty Llandaff is a professional-run home that fully invests in staff training and development. The home provides all updates via social media platforms as well as a monthly newsletter, which is pleasing to see, as they do regular activities within the home with all residents. The home itself is very clean and tidy and the food is delivered to a high standard.I would highly recommend the home as they deliver a quality service, all staff portrays a good professional working attitude and the residents are at the heart of everything they do.

One of the best,if not the best care home I have ever visited. The staff are fantastic and always helpful and supportive the place itself is more like a home from home rather than a nursing home. The food is excellent and amenities are very very good.
