Absolutely fabulous place, the rooms were spacious and comfortable with plenty of amenities, the staff were very friendly and welcoming as well as helpful, we will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a peaceful place to stay..

One of the best hotel experiences I have had in a long time. The new Tempus annex is truly beautifully designed in a quirky and memorable manner with five star comfort in mind. The reception was impressive, the luxurious bedroom enormous with very conceivable amenity and lighting effect - no expense spared. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and professional, our dinner had a wide ranging affordable menu in interesting surroundings. I don't know how they do it all at the price, this is five star !

Stayed here for a wedding. Very impressive grounds, facilities and rooms. Stayed in the brand new Tempus Hotel, which was very stylishly done out and our room was extremely luxurious. Coffee machine in the room, high tech lighting system and all the usual mod cons. Only criticism was we found the food service during the wedding and at breakfast very slow. When we arrived as a wedding party it also wasn't clear where the wedding venue was, so our guests ended up congregating in the restaurant. Clearer signage to direct guests would've been handy. Staff said they weren't used to the new building being there and have found that guests end up being late to the venue because they wait in the wrong place. Small issues though, in general it's a beautiful place.

Look no further. We saw this venue online, first venue we seen & fell in love with it. We flew over from Channel Islands to meet the exceptional team & confirmed our booking. It's got the 'wow' factor, it's elegant, quirky & set in the perfect location. We used all the recommended suppliers who were 5⭐ also. Every step of the planning was so easy, smooth & stressless! Jess was a total star & I would not hesitate to recommend Charlton Hall if you want extraordinary! The Vault after hours was definitely a hit with our guests, the feedback was outstanding.

We attended a wedding here and had a lovely day. The hotel and grounds are picture perfect. We stayed overnight in the tempus and I absolutely loved the decor. We stayed in one of the standard rooms and I wasn't disappointed, I loved the vibe and the room was very comfortable. Loved the mood lighting and the electronic blackout blinds. Breakfast was included and had a continental and cooked to order option. Overall very pleasant stay.

Stayed here is a family Suite at the Tempus in June for my 40th and I have to say this is the most beautiful hotel I have seen in a long time. Incredibly comfortable beds, stunning bathrooms, Nespresso machines in the room and the decor is amazing paired up with great quality.We had dinner at the Tempus restaurant which was outstanding paired with great warm service. Great choice of around the world wines, tasty cocktails and locally sourced seasonal produce.Hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is only short country lane off the A1 which is perfect for not only getting here but also exploring Northumberland coast, Alnwick, and country walks.I wish we stayed longer and 100% will be back in near future!

We have stayed four times over the past year in the Farm House Superior room, Ella suite, Harry suite and a superior room in The Tempus and a Boutique suite in The Tempus.Every room has been beautifully decorated. The decor is unusual and a little quirky. Bathrooms are large with fabulous showers especially in The Tempus and Farm House.There is plenty parking, and beautiful grounds for a stroll.Charlton Hall is in a quiet secluded location just minutes off the A1. Very convenient for the coast and getting around.Food in the restaurant is lovely and the staff are all very well mannered and helpful.The lounge and bar are nice too and again the staff are lovely and knowledgeable.There is a terrace overlooking the estate too where you can sit and enjoy a drink.For a special occasion I recommend a Boutique Suite, pricey but stunning.We will be back.

I stayed here for 2 nights for my Nephews wedding. The rooms were fabulous, we had a family suite in the new Tempus. The whole experience was amazing food service in particular was carried out with precision, but there were a few issues that spoilt it.The bar was woefully understaffed with 1 main bartender who was doing a sterling job holding the bar for 120 people and one other who seemed to be doing other jobs. I had to go in search of staff as the bar was rammed and staff were chatting in the area behind the bar in the hall. The second guy was mopping floors.The toilets had run out of loo paper and staff had already been informed of this but nothing had been done. When your venue is as beautiful as yours and weddings are charged at a premium your staff need to be all hands on deck at all times, to stop these issues occurring. I’ve worked in hospitality as a duty and C&B manager so I have the knowledge and experience to back up my point.It slightly spoiled the event for me having to chase staff to get these things done, as I didn’t want my family to be aware.

Beautiful location. Initially stayed in the Main House but there was a lot of noise from maintenance work down stairs. Moved to Tempus and a beautiful suite, very quickly at no extra Charge, with an apology for any inconvenience. Both rooms were fabulous and we had a wonderful stay. The older staff were amazing and the youngsters were learning very quickly. Shout out for Vita and Lauraine total professionals

Beautiful buildings and grounds. I attended for a wedding and loved it. Will definitely jump at the chance of another visit.... Have to mention the thinnest rimmed Gin glasses too, no chunky rims, makes all the difference.
