Beautiful circular walk surrounding old gravel pit lakes. Lusciously bordered by deciduous woodland, firs and ferns and gorse. Plenty of wildlife to spot.

A gentle walk with space to roam, and lots of water. The children enjoyed and it wasn't too long. Parking isn't the easiest but we found a space roadside.

Very disappointed by what we found!! Over grown with very little views of the lake, dog crappie everywhere and full of dogs running off the lead to the point of twice my daughter was pushed into stinging nettles as dogs came thundering passed! Really not good enough from the dog owners!!

I am a birdwatcher so it depends what time of the year you go, I would suggest breeding season (March to June). Be prepared for a long walk if you go around the lake. Look out for the turtles! I believe they are escapees. They can often be seen in the quieter regions sunning themselves on semi-submerged logs.

Lovely place for a quick half an hour walk around the lake. Can be very muddy so good boots are a must in wet weather

Flooded gravel pit fringed with native shrubs & trees acting as a reserve for wildlife. Had a lovely few hours watching the birds with their young, dragonflies & damselflies going about their business. Very peaceful spot but, as usual, at least two dogwalkers chose to ignore the signage prohibiting them from the reserve path...They just don't get it!Dogs policy: NWT no dogs policy on most of the reserve. The exception applies to the public footpath where NWT request that dogs are kept on short leads during breeding season May - September.""
