I initially gave Shane a two star rating as we felt a bit let down. We did approach him initially for a specific behaviour problem which he did not help us with at all - apparently because I booked the wrong thing with him!! However, I then changed it to one star because his reaction to that verged on gas lighting. He seems to have had conversations with me that I actually was not party to and simply did not recognise. We have indeed had very poor experiences with dog trainers in general until we got to the point we promised ourselves we would never allow another back onto our property. It has been quite depressing and not good for our dogs at all. We remain steadfast, that we never will call another dog trainer again, however, we did write to our MP to lobby for a change in the law regarding the regulation of dog trainers, and were surprised to find that we are not alone. That the Rspca, the Kennel Club and Battersea receive a huge amount of correspondence each year relating to the poor quality of dog training and that it is agreed that changes are needed.

We would definitely recommend Shane if you are looking for a behaviourist. We booked the behaviour modification course, which was exactly what our dachshund, Elvis, needed & we have made real progress with him and his reactivity towards visitors in the home. We have learned a lot from Shane and one of the really valuable things to us has been reading & understanding Elvis' body language. Shane is super friendly, knowledgeable & happy to answer any questions however silly you think they may be! Thanks again :-)

I joined the Mensa class with my 10 month puppy Daisy to help build my confidence with her around other dogs ,as we had a negative experience in another dog socialising group. Shane was understanding and showed me that Daisy is fine around other dogs. The MENSA classes, were good fun and enjoyable. Everyone was friendly and supportive. I learnt a lot about Daisy. Shane was great, he is knowledgeable and you can tell he really loves and cares for dogs. Would definitely recommend.

I've done a few classes with Shane - they are always fun :) The latest was his K9 Mensa class but I can recommend parkour and recall too. Shane offers some really unique classes that are great for learning and just enjoying your dog. Professional, friendly and he always put dog welfare first. Shane's a talented trainer who puts so much love and attention into his work :) Thank you from me and Jolli x

Well, what can we say. Shane is amazing! We desperately needed some help with our crazy cockapoo and several people in our village had recommended K9 Education. We booked three 1:1 sessions in our home and we were not disappointed. In fact, I looked forward to our sessions as the information and knowledge Shane holds about dogs and how their brains work is so interesting. Our dog loves him and we will certainly be booking some more sessions and joining classes in the future. Thank you SO much, Shane!

I took my two dogs to Shane's Parkour classes and had such a good experience. The dogs both have their challenges but Shane made us all feel at ease and it was great to be able to do something so fun and build their confidence with an understanding instructor.

Let me tell you a story about a little senior lady called Lexi, a loving puppa with her family but seemingly aggressive and grumpy to all other dogs and anyone she didn’t know, and a couple of blue staffy puppies.Buddy and Duke our little blue tanks attended K9 beginners class and did well with the training (we are still practicing recall because mummy is a whimp and scared we will run off). We were supposed to wait until after our family holiday in June before we got the dogs as I knew I wouldn’t want to use a kennel but their hooman grandma and Lexi’s mother said she would look after them so we took the plunge and thought Lexi would get used to them.Following Shanes advice we have, since able socialised the boys and visited restaurants and pubs etc and they are absolutely fine and well behaved. They get along with all other dogs and humans and in fact thrive on the attention. However with Lexi there was difficulty in them being together. When they were very little she just ignored them but as they got a bit older but still smaller than her she really didn’t seem keen and had to be muzzled any time they were around.Lexi had been attacked by another dog on a walk which had obviously caused anxiety as before this she did have canine friends but also had changed personality totally after she was spayed. She hated the vets ( and when I mean hate she was soooo scared and to anyone with any ounce of knowledge you could see she was not nasty around the vet, just purely terrified.) soon after a mobility issue prevented Lexi from going on walks for a bit and then covid and all its restrictions and separation hit and Lexi spent a long time with only her hooman parents for company, which probably compounded her fears. She would only be taken to the vet for essential vaccinations and if it was life threatening as it was so traumatic for all involved.Because we had found Shane so helpful and reassuring and basically loved his passion and commitment to the care of dogs I asked if he could visit Lexi and offer us some advice. Really we wanted my boys Buddy and Duke to be able to be around Lexi without her having to be muzzled and potentially walk together. He came to see Lexi who was muzzled when he arrived, totally ignored her initially and didn’t respond to her rearing up and growling (her bravado) within 5 minutes he had asked for the muzzle to be off and by the end of the visit he advised he didn’t think they could stay in the same house when we went on holiday but he’d got her eating treats from him……… a huge step. Shane advised us regarding walking and how to build up time together, I’ve got to be honest I still wasn’t sure it’d happen. It was only a couple of weeks later Lexi stopped eating for a week and very little intake of fluid.Reluctantly she was booked into the vet and the trauma she faced was again awful with the lead vet actually saying you nasty little thing when she growled. Fear reactivity is scary but you’d expect a vet to recognise it and know how to behave. A paste was given to put on her teeth that was it. We called Shane to ask who we could complain to and he suggested seeing Medivet in Birstall. Different experience totally , the vet was told the history and by being calm and patient was even able to get a temperature which was a phenomenon in itself.Following shane’s advice we have managed to not only walk the dogs together, have them in the same house totally muzzle free and even take Lexi for her first Puppaccino in Abbey Park Café just following a park run so it became very busy with other people, children and dogs. No growling no muzzle no issues. People can know come to the house. And in fact Lexi doesn’t like to go on her walks without her canine friends. Still more work to do, but without Shanes advice we wouldn’t be where we are now.If you’re having any issues I couldn’t recommend K9 training any more highly.
