Bell House

Bell house cared for my mother in law for 6 months until she passed away. The care she received could not be faulted and the staff were kind, compassionate, thoughtful and caring, particularly Jess who was exceptional.However, the building itself is very tired and could do with a good makeover, especially for the amount of money you pay per week, which like all care homes is extortionate. The outside has so much potential as the views are stunning but parts are being used as a dumping ground by the home.The bedrooms are very outdated, some of which are in a really poor condition (bed rest broken and wobbling, windowsill was rotting, poor lighting and smelt awful especially the carpet.The home has lots of potential but it needs some investment. First impressions aren’t good but it’s unfair on the staff.

My father has been recently diagnosed with a dementia and was unable to continue to live in his own home. We visited the home and my sister and I were instantly impressed with the level of care, respect and attention being given to residents. He has now been resident for nearly 2 months and we are still very satisfied. The manage communicates to us regularly particularly if there is an issue (he has had a fall which was dealt with efficiently). The surroundings are very pleasant and the building purpose built all on one level. Every afternoon there are games and activities.Overall a well managed and caring environment.

My grandad lasted 1 day before we pulled him straight back out to find an alternative. Having visited multiple times in the 24 hours, it was eye opening. To say this has already been placed in special measures, i don’t know what they’ve done to make this acceptable.

I recently visited my friend who is in the bell house . She says the care is very good BUT the heat is almost suffocating, she had asked for her radiator to be turned off and was told no. I found it most uncomfortable in her room and the heat was almost overpowering surely the staff can do something ,as that is the only complaint she had otherwise everything good.

A circus that's run by a clown!!My dad was only in here about 7 weeks and we had 2 safeguarding issues, the worst carehome I've ever visited, and I've been in a few with my job! Why it's not been closed by CQC is beyond me!

If I could give this place no stars I would. Do not place your loved ones in this unsafe environment. All their possessions will go missing, personal information will become public and any complaints will be met with borderline aggression. I can’t believe places like this are permitted to operate.

What a fantastic place the care is second to none nothing is too much trouble the clients ate treated with utmost care and compassion...and as I care worker for 30 plus years I am particular.... well done Rachel and her wonderful staff not all angel have wings

What a shambles this place is. My daughter worked there for 6 months. I wouldn't pay to put my dig in there
