Budget Car Hire - Glasgow City Centre

I picked up a car on June 7th, 2022, for 3 days. The car was great. The process was easy and Tom was the best at customer service, as was the man when I took the car back. He even ordered a taxi for us. I would recommend and I would use them again.

I needed to hire a car at short notice for a couple of days and used Budget Car Hire. The price was excellent and better than a lot of rivals, plus the location for pick up and drop off was ideal for me. Staff were always friendly and professional and no issues at all with the car or the pick up or drop off.

Our booking number is 4714-3117-GB-OPP. We have sent Kyle (manager of AVIS) numerous emails which he ignores. We have tried to call and no one answers the phone. His staff advised we would get a refund as Kyle would not allow the staff to wait for us for 15 mins due the plane arriving late.Terrible service. Plane arrived late and needed the office to stay open for 15 mins for us to pick up our pre paid car. They wouldn't wait for us but offered a refund. 6 months later still trying to get a refund and don't even get a reply to our emails. The owner is completely irresponsible. We will be in Glasgow again in June and will go to the office but will not rent from Budget ever.

Horrible experience. Do not rent from here. I was given a car with many dents and issues with the exterior. The rental agent showed me the marks on the computer and I failed to double check that he marked all of the issues on the form. When returning the car I was charged hundreds extra for damage that I did not cause. Additionally the car was given to use with a half tank of gas and it was supposed to be full. I did catch that prior to leaving, but clearly no one checked over our vehicle like they claimed they did. Whatever you do CHECK CHECK CHECK the vehicle you are given for damage prior to signing anything.There was nothing I could do in the end. Budget charged me for damage to the exterior that I did not cause. I’ll never rent from budget again.

British driver. Hired a car over the weekend. Very easy check in to pick up the car. Was a bit worried cos there were small scratches on the car when I picked it up especially on the alloys but not big enough to be in the contract. Returned with no problem and the whole deposit was reversed the next day so no issues. They even let me leave my bike in the garage over the weekend ☺️ Going to use them again.

I had booked a car for 3 days a few months in advance to secure the price of $389.61, but at the end I was charged for $862.49. The 1st car which I received had serious mechanical issues and had to return it 5 minutes after received it. In addition, all 4 tires had no threads left which shows the car was not even safe to be on the road (photos and videos are available). The replacement car I received was more expensive but this is the car rental fault and not mine to pay this extra charge! To date, I have sent 18 emails to Budget/Avis car rental's customer service and they have not responded to any of my emails. Unprofessional and unethical, what a terrible customer service. The worst customer service of any industry which I have ever seen in my whole life. I will share my findings, proves, photos and videos with news agencies and social media platforms should Avis/Budget continues ignoring my emails. I had rented cars from Avis and Budget many times in the past for personal use and business purposes. No more Budget or Avis for me unless I receive the full refund ASAP or I will challenge this decision in the court and through other measurements.

I recommend. Great car rental experience in Budget Scotland, 1st time in Edinbrugh, 2nd time now in Glasgow. Quick check-in/out, amazing staff, car in very good conditions. We rented a car from this office using chase sapphire car rental insurance. We got an almost new car in great condition. They were very friendly and helpful. Upon returning the car after our 10 day rental, we were checked out quickly with no sign of damage to the car. We would definitely use them again.

Declined my topcashback cashbackCar covered in bird poo and had trouble recognising the presence of the car keys, sometimes leaving me unable to start it for a few minutes.Worst of all, they did not honour my topcashback cashback until I lodged a missing cashback claim with topcashback after it was finally paid a full 8 MONTHS after the purchase, and only after they initially declined the claim and I then emailed budget separately. Though they never replied to me, but the cashback finally got paid a while after. Not sure my email directly to them had anything to do with it, to be honest.Shameful behaviour and such a waste of my time. Shows you get what you pay for.Date of purchase: 12th Feb.
