Lewes Antiques Centre

Visited this shop today and found an item which we wished to purchase. Upon requesting if we could reserve the item, we were informed no which was fine. A female staff member then commented that we should purchase the item there and then. Myself and my partner informed staff that we wished to think about the item and would return later to purchase. The staff member continued to make a further comment and smirked “well that means you won’t be returning then”. Myself and my partner had every intention to return to purchase the item however due to the rude interaction did not wish to return to the shop.

Went to pick up an item my friend had reserved over the phone the day before, when searching for the address on google, I noticed the bad customer service reviews and my god they were not wrong.Spoke to the lady on the desk, told her I was picking up an item she replied with “Well do you know where it is in the store” erm no my friend reserved it over the phone, “Well it’s a big store with lots of items”I’m sorry but is it not there job to put an item aside if it’s been reserved and communicate with the person working the next day.She was so rude and acted like I was wasting her time. I would not of minded if she was polite when asking these questions but her attitude stank

Now here is a lot to see. And a great variety at that. Again, no new “old” stuff which is spreading like a disease elsewhere. It’s a bit more upmarket than other places, but not too much. Somewhere between Snooper’s Paradise in Brighton and The Old Cinema in Chiswick. Will definitely be returning.

Staff were very polite and friendly, happy to help, great service, nice atmosphere and lots to look at and buy!

Love looking around here! And always has a bit of everything old and more modern. The staff could be more welcoming though!

BEWARE - I will be reporting them to Trading Standards for selling a picture in a cheap ikea frame for £9 with a misleading description on the front ‘guaranteed 100 years old’, and masking tape up the frame. Upon closer inspection, I discover that it is bog standard postcode print I could have picked up from Kew for less than a quid. All fool me!

The new staff there are incredibly rude. They were talking about me when I was in the shop a so asked about the price of something as it was scratched. I asked if they could at least wait till I left the shop to talk about me, whereupon the older lady said she would talk about me to my face. Such a shame as I like this shop and am sad to have been treated so rudely, I will never give them my business again.

The best Antique/Flea market for miles around, a fantastic selection of stuff, bargains if you look, very friendly helpful staff. 5 *****

We first visited this centre over a year ago and were amazed. Although 50 miles from our home we now visit every 8-10 weeks and spend over an hour each time browsing. Definitely a go to place.

This store is never ending! They had so many floors with treasures on all floors however I found the best buys for me to be on the ground floor. Staff were lovely and there was a small movement in price when I asked nicely.
